Tupaq and Ea by itzamahel

This is an appendix to the description of "Tupaq and Ea", my latest digital illustration (check the picture above).
The following is the second part of a detailed description of the background story of these characters, who play a major role in my original story project, the IN LAK'ECH Mythos.

The Frashokeretian Alliance dissolved after the war, and each of its members returned to their daily exploitation of their own workforce, repression and capture of independent sentient beings to meet their agendas of expansion. A "greater evil" has been stopped, for the "lesser evil" to continue. The other elemental gods, save for the god of fire (who led the No Fayan Akh Hordes of Manglapronn. In the beginning of the conflicts, the hordes sided with the Frashokeretian Alliance, but after realizing the Alliance privileged some members in detriment of others, they decided to turn back, in some fronts teaming up with the ORS OHORELA and other associates - the Xibalbans, in Aztlán, and Satyr rebellions in the Chronpuchian colony of Alba. Ultimately, the horde has destroyed the Jötunn homeplanet of Jötunheimr, but also had their own world, Manglapronn, destroyed by Dezrekhotz, a Duskoplasm Entity plague captured by the Anunnaki and used by Molokh, from the Alliance, to deal a fatal blow into the horde. Some survived, however, and followed to Earth alongside Lapolakh, the god of fire, who years after the war would establish a new hegemonic power in Egypt, where he was known as Khepra), continued their usual business.
But the Topakar weren't over yet.
Within the newly christened post-war Yakuruna Republic of K Pacha, Spectro, a long time ally of Tupaq, would gather resources as a Yakuruna industrialist, and with it secretly fund the development of what remained from Apuqohcan -one of the Topakar cities, that escaped destruction as a teleporting city-, exiled in the outer galaxy. After centuries, when his plot was found by his opponents, it would be too late. He wasn't the only front by which the Topakar would return, though. On earth, Ai Apaec, one of the Ta'tal, would pass his knowledge to the Moche communities (in the Pacific Coast of nowadays Chinchaysuyu), leading to the creation of independent city-states led by different sorcerers (the "Lords of Sipán"), and the expansion of their power through the indigenous communities of nowadays Quntisuyu (central Peru) like the Nazca and Qollasuyu (Bolivia) like the Aymaras and Tiwanaku culture. In the Lake Titicaca, Ai Apaec ordered the construction of a portal (the Sun Gate) which should link the Absolute Darkness and release Tupaq, and despite it failed in doing so, it made Ai Apaec able to communicate with Spectro and the ORS OHORELA in-exile, or the Magocracy of Apuqohcan from the outer galaxy. An invasion of earth by the Topakar was only prevented by a group of Quinametzin known to the Tiwanaku. The opponents of Spectro learned of this threat and would attempt to coopt the Nazca struggle against the old Moche Empire, however they failed as the natives denied the foreigner support and banished both the Yakuruna and the Moche with their own efforts. A larger threat of a possible return of Topakars would be noticed in the late Third Sun Era when Huitzilopochtli and Tlaloc, shortly after the disruption of the "Xiuhcoatl Empire" that formed in Aztlán and Anahuac centuries before, met the Moche, a confederation of independent and warring tribes led by sorcerers, the most powerful of them possibly the young Lady of Cao. Witnessing the rise of users of Duskoplasm and Darr, Huitzilopochtli feared that anytime a portal could drag Tupaq out from the darkness, and so they caused severe changes in the weather and instigated a bloodbath between clans to end this threat, eventually facing Spectro in the 7th century.
Even so, there was still another front rising in Europe, composed of different magicians with different cultural backgrounds, that have gathered a secret international society, the Palarokhian Order (named after Palarokhiel, one of the Topakar nations), around the 9th century. With members from places as far as england to china and egypt to scandinavia, the "Palarokhians" were lured by a centuries-old Centzonmimixcoa survivor, Jahi, who had regained contact with her fellows and Tupaq, though she still needed someone to open the portal and drag them from there - the Absolute Darkness is seemingly infinite, and despite Tupaq is omniscient, he had to collaborate with the people of the surface to pinpoint a location in this vastness and drag him out of it. Jahi has also been crucial to unleash the Justinian Plague alongside a Telkhine (a kind of sea mammals which the Aztecs called Ahuitzotl, even though this name was later adopted to a larger variety of sea creatures including the Tritons, who rival the Telkhines) in Egypt and to communicate with a group of dragons, the "Vovin Brotherhood" led by Snogard in Dantalia (located somewhere near Siberia), who have promptly allied with and supported the Palarokhians after receiving the notice that Tupaq was alive and about to be released - Snogard descends from a lineage of dragons that served the ORS OHORELA and that saw Tupaq as their ancestor, and a testament to all about the Draconian superiority, both biologically and especially regarding their magocratic values. The Palarokhian Order made use of their members' distinct nationalities to devise attention from the kingdoms of the time, and also to fund their own researches, remaining underground for years. But their research proved fruitless most of the time, in the 11th Century, alongside the Vovin Brotherhood they led an attack to an independent tribe from the Alfheimr Woods (on Eastern Scandinavia), the Banterans, as they were sold by a traitor, Axayacatl, but protected by some Quinametzin (there called Jentilak) and Cuauhtemoc, a Toltec Cuetzpalin who, like Axayacatl and some few more, were dragged from the Caribbean sea into Scandinavia by an inter-dimensional rift (Nahui-Atl's sea). Unlike him, however, Cuauhtemoc cared less about returning home or getting rich, and cared more about protecting the people and the woods he live in, wherever that may be. Ultimately, knowing the goal of the Palarokhians, Cuauhtemoc identified the kind of threat they posed, and infiltrated it, taking one of their own as a host, while trying to prevent the liberation of Tupaq from inside the order. After taking some hosts, he was identified as Aradia in the early 14th Century, and escaped, to train a group of warriors to prepare for the worst and fight Tupaq and the Centzonmimixcoa if they needed to. This group would later become the equally international and multi-cultural background Schwarze Ritter ("Black Knights"), who besides enemies to the Palarokhian Order were also enemies to the Teutonic Order, the Catholic and Orthodox Christian churches, and promoted freedom and autonomy. A major battleground between the Black Knights and the Palarokhians was the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
In 1317, after 3000 years, Tupaq was finally released, and incarnated into a human body, the Palarokhian Grandmaster, who also claimed to be the Palarokhian Emperor, as he started to use his devastating magic to enslave part of the local populace into doing his bidding. His return also coincided with the most critical breakouts of Black Death in Europe, and his rule would likely take eternity, if a joint between Cuauhtemoc, the Black Knights, and also Tupaq's own perdition into the forest of Iriy (in Russia) hadn't taken the life of his new human host. Ironically, Tupaq's human form was killed by the curse of a ME he found while on Iriy. It gave him, however, a profound knowledge, and after this, he regained contact with Spectro - or rather his successor- who became his newest ally in his pursuit - turning Earth into a new Topakhon Mobile. This ally, who inherited all knowledge, resources and surveillance from Spectro the Elder, would be instrumental to carry out Tupaq's plan.

Meanwhile, the Apkallu have gathered information from new ME and its victims, such as Erysichthon, a human king of Thessaly turned into a Jötunn with ceaseless hunger, later adopted by the new Jötunn Scientific Organization, based in Nifelheimr, a series of underground caves on northern Scandinavia.

Tupaq returned to Earth one more time, he needed to gather more resources than the secret Palarokhian Order could afford in the 14th Century if he wanted to convert the planet into a new Topakhon Mobile. His right hand, Spectro, and his ancient generals, the Ta'tal, have pointed out other fronts that struggled for his return, including the Moche on south America. If some of their descendants ever survived, he had a chance to find a new and powerful human host for him to take and lead the people into working towards the construction of a new Topakhon Mobile. The ones he'd find, however, weren't the Moche, nor their descendants (the Chimú). They were the glorious Tahuantinsuyu, or Inca Empire.
Tupaq Yupanqui was a son of the current Inca ruler, Pachacuti. His father founded the Tahuantinsuyu, centered around Cuzco, the centuries-old hometown of the Inca people, that years ago almost fell to the hands of an enemy army, the Chankas, if it wasn't for Pachakuti's strategies and resolve. Now, Pachacuti was getting older and should choose one of his sons as his successor. He chose Amaru Yupanqui to succeed him, however he failed to defeat some Guarani semi-nomad warriors from the northeast of the Tahuantinsuyuan domain (in the area beyond Antisuyu, nowadays borders between Brazil and Peru), and his brother Tupaq took the position of head of the inca army in 1463, as he managed to expand its borders via successful military campaigns. This was more than a worthy host for the dragon god of darkness, as he shared much more than his name with the entity, this "Son of the Sun" (the title of the Inca ruler, or Sapa Inka) he was like an incarnation of this ancient deity who won thousands of battles, and survived 3000 years of oppression at the hands of his enemies.
Finally in 1471, Tupaq Yupanqui became the Inca, following Pachacuti, and expanding the empire to far away regions - reaching the Mapuches at far south (Chile and Argentina), even he Fire island (called by the Inca as Nina Chumpi), inhabited by the Selknam, the Guarani and Pano at the eastern forests (northern and central Brazil), the Muisca and Tairona at the north (Colombia and Venezuela), and even adventuring into the pacific, reaching Ahu Vinapu (the Easter Island), where Tupaq was known by the locals as Mahunate Ra'a ("Son of the Sun"). This was also thanks to his employment of dragons (the Amaru, overseen by a dragon named Supay, who was alongside the others freed from the oppressive captivity imposed by Pachacamac, an Earth God, who despite revered by Tupaq's father, was banished from the land by his son), a group of dragon riders (the Tupaq Chasqui, or "noble messengers"), dark magicians (the yacarcae, feared by people and the official military alike) and the Yakuruna ("water people", how the alien employees of the secret Saqraruna Organization were called by the locals. They remained in Titicaca even after the eventual fall of Cuzco to the spanish invaders many years after Tupaq's rule). Eventually, some of the Inca ranks also included cihuateteoh (winged demonesses from Aztlán who inhabit the earth for centuries following the banishing of their earlier ruler Itzpapalotl. They're not particularly allied to the Topakar, however their enmity towards the Aztecs and their "Anahuac offspring" - the Nahua in the Third Era, the Toltecs in the Fourth Era and the Mexica in the fifth - continued up to this day, at least among some groups. Most of them remain secret, disguised as humans in other communities throughout the continent, led by different matriarchs who often compete for authority among their own secret "sisterhoods").
In the first years of his rule, to assure the Tahuantinsuyu was hegemonic, he defeated several Huacas (a.k.a Quinametzin, elemental giants or giants with consciousnesses of ancient creatures, materialized by reformed organic and mineral bodies, sometimes mistakenly regarded as the avatars of a supposed collective consciousness of "nature" or ancestors. Throughout history, they've opposed the elemental gods and social organizations influenced by them, usually most of the governments and cities of great civilizations. They weren't, though, opposed to social organizations of autonomous self-nomadic populations), including the seven guardians of the Guarani, and also the Pururaucas (Huacas made exclusively of stone, some of them were part of his father's army) who guarded the city of Pachacamac (named after the god). In the second year of his rule, he expanded the region of Chinchaysuyu by defeating the lords of the Chimú, the descendants of the Moche. The Chimú, or at least their elite, had vast knowledge of the hidden elements and sorcery because of their ancestors, the Moche. Most of the yacarcae came from the Chimú area, and sided with the Tupaq following the defeat of the Chimú lord in a duel, and the capture of their capital, Chan Chan, by the Inca army.
The biggest challenge, however, was yet to come: following further expansions to the north in 1481, getting past the areas of the Chibcha and Tairona confederations (in nowadays Colombia), some of Tupaq's Chasquis have entered into territory of the Taino, at the southern shores of the Caribbean sea. About the same time, a far northern confederation was dealing with some Taino leaderships the gathering of taxes from their towns in exchange of some surveillance by their army. Those were the Mexica Confederation, centered around Tenochtitlán (Mexico City), that was also a large confederation, or empire (despite it's administration is divided between three cities - Tenochtitlán, Texcoco and Tlacopan, Tenochtitlán holds a privileged position since the foundation of the Confederation). This war, completely erased from the later historical accounts, counted with the reenactment of the conflicts between the Yana Phuyu (Centzonmimixcoa) and the Cuetzpalin, and lasted for 12 years, between 1481 and 1493. During this time, Mexico faced successory crises, losing three rulers to the war (actually, just two. The other was poisoned as part of a conspiracy) and their long-time high warrior priest, Tlacaelel, who was a super-powerful Cuetzpalin. It also marked the height of the career of the warrior Moctezuma Xocoyotzin (who'd become the ruler in 1502, and later rule Mexico during the spanish invasion) as the head of the Mexican army.
During the war, Tupaq had many sons and daughters with different wives and would eventually exchange his body for a new that met some requirements such as magical affinity, and part of that could be achieved by constant training of the magical abilities. He held some of his children in the fortress of Chincheru, where they were physically and psychologically trained to their extremes, magic duels, what attracted negative attention from his wife and sister, Mama Ocllo Coya, mother to Tito Husi Huallpa. In the 12th year of war against Mexico, when both empires had already wasted entire generations subjugating smaller tribes in their way (like the Tairona, Taino, Chachapoyas and Kek'chi), rumors were that Tupaq would choose his ilegitimate son Capac Huari as his successor, what angered his sister. In allegiance with her brother, Huaman Achachi, a military captain, she poisoned Tupaq, murdered Capac Huari's mother Chuqui Ocllo, murdered Hualpya, a tutor of her son (who was an yacarcae and trainer of Tupaq's children, loyal to Tupaq), and sent Capac Huari into exile on Ahu Vinapu, as her son, Tito Husi Huallpa, became the next Inca and changed his name to Huayna Capac. His rule had a rough beginning marked by peace with Mexico, while fighting other brothers and sisters, as well some "followers of Tupaq". The official claim was that Tupaq died poisoned by Chuqui Ocllo, who was jealous of Mama Ocllo and wanted to place her son, who wasn't a noble like Tito Husi Huallpa, the people bought it and commemorated Chuqui Ocllo's death.
Tupaq's body died that year, however his consciousness persisted, and continued to surround his Mallki (royal mummy). He let his sister and her associates take control over Tahuantinsuyu, and his followers retreated to fortresses built by the Saqraruna in Titicaca, Ahu Vinapu and in "Xibalba", a series of underground and underwater caves extending from beneath the Yucatán Peninsula into the Caribbean Sea, discovered during the war with Mexico. From then, Tupaq had already gathered lots of resources from the war, and lost many as well, yet the human greed and the Cuetzpalin have once again been the major opponents of his plan's fruition, so for some years his goals shifted their focus, into eliminating the Cuetzpalin. He had allies in Europe, the Palarokhian Order, that acted beneath the sight of its public organizations, and in the following years the leader of the Tupaq Chasqui would defeat the next Palarokhian Grandmaster and take his place, further bridging the cooperation between distinct sectors of Tupaq's associates. Like Tupaq, his Chasqui didn't care for the people of Tahuantinsuyu (no news here, no ruler or ruling class ever care for those who work for them, if they do it's only when they're directly benefitted by it - like how more people can produce more in less time, and how more people can consume even more - that's the logic of profit. All other conditions besides those, like education, health, or even will are neglected. Workers aren't ever treated as individuals by their bosses, but as properties), and they wouldn't interfere when Tupaq's grandsons' struggle for the throne (apparently, this position was so privileged it's nobility fought among their own for it through years even before Tupaq, and this weakness, this centralization of power would be exploited by the spanish invaders, who'd break the empire in two by placing a puppet emperor against the other), neither in the conquest of Cuzco. Instead, Tupaq's efforts were directed at capturing and terminating the Cuetzpalin. His ally, Spectro, was even more sadistic - he was gathering the bodies and Tonalcoatl of fallen Cuetzpalin for his own experiments, producing remotely controlled undead cyborg Cuetzpalin warriors, which were named as AI (for "Artificial Intelligence"). Stored in Xibalba, they'd become a secret force in service of the Saqraruna.

One of Tupaq's ancient Ta'tal, a Chronpuchian from Apuqohcan named Enigma, who inherited the ability of manipulating darkness and light to create illusions, was still alive, and was sent by Tupaq alongside his fellow Ta'tal, "Kometa", from Xibahpukon, to personally eliminate the "Cuetzpalin Paynal" (from the nahuatl "fast", refers to the speedsters Moctezuma and Papantzin Xocoyotzin, both who frustrated most of the Inca military's northern campaigns in the war) at the beginning of the next century. In 1509, Papantzin was captured by these "brothers" in Texcoco, and nine years later, during the spanish arrival, they would reappear and face Moctezuma. During this period, however, Enigma made a discovery even him and his fellow Ta'tal may haven't been ready to find: while searching the swamps of southern Mexico, Enigma found a mirror, unaware it was a ME, and from his contact with it he acessed more memories from King Anu, that accounted the true goals of Tupaq, what was accelerating the dissipation of the universe, what meant even the Ta'tal, as he was led by the hypothesis that in Absolute Darkness his power would be absolute, even though at the cost of confining the last remaining consciousnesses into oblivion. Building up all he knew on the matter, Enigma realized the late Anunnaki's assumptions were true, and in few years, the curse cast upon him - his original form became something horrid which none could look after. He had to constantly create illusions to avoid his fellows from running in fear from him. That was a little too tiresome to keep - became a heavy weight, and eventually became known.

The Apkallu approached Enigma, and after neutralizing him for a moment, Ea read his mind to gather yet more memories of Anu. Like all other of their victims, they'd erase the memories of this meeting from Enigma's mind, however Enigma resisted and offered Enki to lend his and allegiance. Aware of Tupaq's actual goal and millennia-lasting deceit, Enigma came from a privileged position within the Topakar ranks and would willingly handle information to the Apkallu if they were to have conditions of fighting him. The goals of the Apkallu under Ea, however, weren't merely eliminating the elemental gods and their oppressive rule over all - but to REPLACE them. And Enigma reasonably saw that as an opportunity, to take the power of some elemental gods. Ea didn't instantly believed in Enigma, however they could use a spy within the Topakars.

Alongside his minions, the "horrors", Enigma would take advantage of the spanish invaders' lack of knowledge and irrational, religious beliefs to lead them in fighting the Mexica for death. His minions twisted the minds of men, spread diseases (both material such as smallpox and psychological like christianity/monotheism) and ultimately defeated the Cuetzpalin. Kometa, who inherited the ability of teleportation through darkness, was even faster than Moctezuma, and was able to finish off the last ruler, allowing the spanish to take the city and install their policies of assimilation, persecution, colonization, slavery, destruction of historical accounts and imposition of the irrational christian doctrine.
Resistance was fertile, and through figures such as Macoel and Cuauhtemoc, would live up to the next centuries, despite all odds. As for Tupaq, his Mallki ("royal mummy"), the medium by which he kept contact with the Inca, would be finally destroyed in 1532, under orders of the general Quizquiz, following the capture of Cuzco by Atahualpa (who intended to kill his brother Huascar, the legitimate Inca following the death of their father Huayna Capac, Tupaq's legitimate son. Atahualpa tried to transform Quito into a "northern capital" to the empire before he planned to attack his brother. In the wake of the spanish invasion, Atahualpa would ultimately become a puppet emperor set by the invaders, even though some of his own, including Quizquiz would understandably rise agaisnt their foreigner masters). Quizquiz, who alongside most of his fellow army were from Quito and originated from either the Caras or Quitu communities, held resentment from the oppression they suffered at the hands of Tupaq Yupanqui, who in 1462, nine years before he became the Inca ruler, led a military campaign which took the town and its people, annexing it into the Tahuantinsuyu, then ruled by his father. On the occasion, with the opportunity of an anarchy installed by the invasion, Quizquiz ordered the destruction of the mummy. Among his army, composed of enslaved soldiers captured by the Inca and later the spanish on the borders of Tahuantinsuyu, the ranks were rapidly increasing with more slaves of different origins, including a Tepaneca (mexican) Cuetzpalin, Total, who would identify that Tupaq lived through his mummy, even after his death, and notice that even the destruction of his mummy may yet haven't killed him, as he warned bad things would happen to Quizquiz for he ordered the soldiers to destroy Tupaq's memory, and the spirit's last words were curses against the troopers. Said and done, Quizquiz would be betrayed by his own soldiers in 1535, who after losing two attempted rebellions against the spanish, revolted against their leader, who continued to fight (this time, against the spanish forces, for Atahualpa, whom he served before the spanish invasion, was already dead, and the following puppet emperors weren't regarded by him as legitimate rulers). They've eventually split and ventured into what remained of Quito, but it was a matter of time before that, too, was annexed by the spanish colony. As for the Cuetzpalin Total, he was sold to some slavers in Colombia, and that was the last report of him (Total was the lover of Papantzin, Moctezuma's sister, despite Moctezuma forced her to marry his political ally Nezahualpilli). If the memory of Tupaq was damaged, he made sure he'd take others with him. But he didn't live of memories alone - incarnated in his dragon form, Tupaq continued to watch the progress of the intergalactic Saqraruna in following his agenda, on turning Earth into a new Topakhon, by replacing its core with a controlled Black Hole. The facilities held by the Saqraruna would gradually increase in number on Earth.

While leading the Palarokhian Order, the immortal Tupaq Chasqui, led several hunting campaigns against the remaining Cuetzpalin on latin America. What Macoel and Cuauhtemoc struggled to build was falling apart; Cuauhtemoc moved to Brazil and Macoel to the north of New Spain, in nowadays Arizona. Some Cuetzpalin have found refuge among the Hopi and Zuni peoples, while others followed far south and reached the Taironas, Shipibo, Tupari and Ashaninkas. Where they could escape from the reach of the spanish, portuguese, british, french and dutch captors, they couldn't escape from the hands of darkness. Cuauhtemoc, alongside a group of liberated Cuetzpalin, alongside some descendants from Mexicas and Mixtecas known as Wakastekas, organized a town near nowadays State of Acre, Brazil, by 1674, where they planned to create a resistance against the colonial forces, and where they met by a couple of Huacas, Aroteh and Tovah, who became their guardians. After some years, however, a devastating attack led by Tupaq Chasqui and a coalition of Amaru dragons and Palarokhian mages destroyed their guardians, their town, their crops, the Cuetzpalin and forced its few survivors to leave even far south, and closer to the Bandeirantes bounty hunters. Cuauhtemoc would escape, and identifying his enemies, followed them back to Europe. He was, too, in search of the rumored "super powerful Cuetzpalin speedsters" Papantzin and Moctezuma, that if alive, could help the resistance. He failed to see, however, that not far from there, the Ashaninkas were the ones carrying the last keys for a possible return of Moctezuma. Cuauhtemoc was seemingly alone in is fight, while the associates, pawns and slaves of his enemy, Tupaq, were increasing - despite he was hiding in the shadows.
Numerous indigenous rebellions have risen in the continent, and that would last even after the self-proclaimed independence of several states, that still played a subservient role in a global economical system that privileged an industry built with all the wealth forcibly usurped from the colonies. These satellite states defended a nationalism that was foreigner to its own people, yet the armed forces, working for a sanctimonious elite, haven't faltered in keeping the masses in line. The Saqraruna wasn't directly involved in the so-called Industrial Revolutions, however it's head, Spectro, still searched for opponents of his that were taking advantage of some sectors within the human society - the Neo Civilis, a secret society composed by bourgeois from different nations, which goal was to globalize a standard of lifestyles and customs and enforce those as what they decided to claim as "humanity"; to legitimize and naturalize a superficial "human nature" that excluded cultural, ethnical and racial elements which they personally condemned. It was an eugenic association of old white guys trying to rewrite mankind's history based not only on their lack of knowledge about past and supposedly distant cultures (some were even more recent and close to what they regarded as their cultural background - a fabricated union between an idealized "hellenic democracy" and "judeo-christian morality"), but also in their lack of interest on knowing, understanding or dialoguing with it, even though they claimed to struggle for peace, equality, liberty and fraternity. Spectro has infiltrated the Neo Civilis to reach his opponents - two other Yakuruna leaders, Jovan and Blar'Hazix, and found out that besides Earth, they were colonizing the planet Sothis, which indigenous inhabitants, the Dzolob and Aluxob were biomechanical just like the Yakuruna. These opportunistic Yakuruna were using some of their own to promote a Sothian independence from the Chronpuchians, whose empire have colonized it for years. This independence, however, was just like the one happeing among the "humans" - an alternative dependence. Spectro appeared before a Neo Civilis, Innocent (each member of the NC call themselves under titles, and oversee specific "spheres of power". "Innocent" is the head of the sphere of Philosophy), who mistaken him for a messenger of god, and this "Innocent" became his new secret pawn, who after being converted into a post-human cyborg by his new master, took over Jovan's efforts in ruling over the colony of Sothis in the 18th Century. In this position, he left the Novus Civilizatio for years, and sold Sothian technology to selected earthly customers, including American Unionists. Spectro closely watched the progress of his pawn, and let him take his own path, conciliating that with his own responsibilities to the Topakar.

The 18th Century Innocent would eventually return to the Novus Civilizatio as a different individual, who'd assume in the 20th Century the role of "Archimedes", responsible for the sphere of Science. Archimedes is the secret supplier of Sothian technology which would be used by the american enterprise ABEL Inc and the Teutonic Ulhaden Corporation to develop the super-powerful Alpha-Omega series armors. The Neo Civilis intend to improve these armors and after testing on human agents for enough time, limit its usage by their own members, or chosen associates.

Like the Sothian Aluxob & Dzolob and the Yakuruna from K Pacha before them, the members of the Novus Civilizatio also intend to create a process of species enhancement in a global scale, supported by the employment of surveillance and repression. The Yakuruna society shifted towards an absolute centralization of power (divided among three most secret brains who are known to Spectro alone and claim to be "supercomputers", they watch over the artificial intelligences which were meant to be the next generations of Yakuruna) that hasn't been reached yet by the Sothians. Divided into three major clans - Fire, Water and Jungle, and two subspecies (the human-sized Aluxob and the larger Dzolob, although the later doesn't occur in the Jungle clan, whose members were since centuries ago gradually turning into "Mandragorans" - beings related to the Quinametzin, regarded as the "heralds" of these ancient beasts), the Sothians have since their independence been overseen by a third race, the Leukocytons, which members are artificial intelligences, and who intervened over the three clans as "mediators" of conflicts, and also guardians of each clan's "chosen leaders". The Jungle clan, however, stepped aside from this mediation, as some of their own investigated the Leukocytons and learned they were actually capturing Sothians and either experimenting or/and killing them, to produce more artificial intelligences posing as Sothians. This discovery, however, wasn't met the same way by the leaders of the Fire and Water clans, who still detained some privileges from those relations, and the conflict between the clans resulted in the segregation of the Jungle one, as well in the disappearance of its own leader (who was reputedly the descendant of an ancient leader, Yum Kaax). From this point onwards, the scattered Jungle Aluxob were regarded as enemies to the Leukocytons, while the Fire and Water elites still inducted its own populace to engage in struggles for the limited resources. There were still Chronpuchians in Sothis, but their communities chose not to intervene directly on Sothian affairs. In the same place the Leukocytons were being produced, which the Jungle Aluxob called The Power Source, they identified what seemed to be a replication of the Yakuruna supercomputers, what meant whoever brought the Leukocytons into Sothis (unknown to them, the same sponsors of Sothian independence) intended to introduce a global-scale surveillance network that should run in parallel with the process of Sothian "Automation". The same would happen to humans some centuries later, and the Neo Civilis believed that the Sothian-origin Alpha-Omega armors would be able to prevent its users from being observed, controlled or overrun by artificial intelligences linked to the "Power Source" or "supercomputer" of humanity. They couldn't be more wrong, however, as the armors were themselves artificial intelligences which were looking for genetically-fit hosts, and Spectro was looking for these hosts - this project would culminate in the creation of the Insect Syndicate many years later, but that's another story.
The "Human Automation" which Spectro secretly observed in parallel to his work for Tupaq's demands wasn't incompatible with Tupaq's own plans - to centralize power and surveillance over humanity in a global and genetic scale would make it easier to convert them into reprogrammable artificial intelligences, what meant the control of their necessities could make their adaptation into the artificial geology and atmosphere of a "Mobile Topakhon-formed Earth" even easier. Spectro looked forward to replicate the conditions of the artificial Mobile Topakhon on Earth, and to do so, just like Tupaq founded the ORS OHORELA through the centralization of power to the four Ta'tal, he would do it not only with the 21s century's Tahuantinsuyu's not-so-public Council for Advanced Scientifical, Technological, Industrial and Energetic Development (the more public face of Saqraruna), but also from sectors that were historically and politically opposed to it.

After Tupaq Chasqui conceded his position as the Palarokhian Grandmaster to a Palarokhian magician who defeated him (which he accepted following its magocratic principles), this new grandmaster, from the Dutch family of Sonck, that produced a long-time lineage of magicians allied to the Palarokhian Order, has arranged radical shifts within the Order, to accomodate its role within the defense of traditional european nobility, that according to him "would more practically viabilize the time when the Palarokhians took over" - as "rightfully taking over all the kingdoms of the world" was, according to him, "the first and main objective of the Palarokhian Order", and that it preceded "the liberation of the God of Darkness (Tupaq)", who also according to him "didn't fulfill his promise". Sonck also defended a "magocratic, meritocratic nature of power" that according to him "was being disrespected by the weakening of rule present in democracy". Sonck defended the best way fr the Palarokhians to take over was by mixing their families with the royal ones, as he believed in eugenic and blood values. To other Palarokhians, like Karzon Valtheran, this was rather a defense of the pettiness of earthly kingdoms and ungratitude towards Tupaq, and in the wake of the "First World War", the order fragmented in two, with the Soncks defending that Palarokhians should merge with the lineages of traditional monarchy and the Valtherans defended the restoration of a Palarokhian Empire independently of legally acquiring kingship (considering the self-proclaimed "Palarokhian Empire" which Tupaq founder over his attack and necromancer control over Teutonic and Polish-Lithuanian towns in the 14th Century). Some argue Rasputin was a Palarokhian, possibly siding with to the Soncks, as he protected those who would inherit the power of the Tsar. On the other hand, the Valtherans likely supported the Bolsheviks and the later expansion of the USSR. Because around the 14th Century most of the order's members eventually relocated around the territories between the Prussian Empire, the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and the Russian Empire, the Soncks remained in Lithuania, and in the wake of the 1917 Revolution opposed the Bolsheviks, the Socialists, and defenders of democracy. They were, however, hunt down by the AI agents sent by the Saqraruna, and the survivors of the Sonck family moved back to "the West", as if expulsed from the Valtheran-led Order that was increasingly turning itself into an underground intelligence agency within the Soviet State. It was also a matter of time before they could take back the Philosopher's Stone, held by the Black Knights in Königsberg - what they did, following the defeat of the Nazi Germany in the outcome of the WWII. The Black Knights opposed the rise of Nazism from the beginning, but were unable to resist the forces of Kaliningrad, and eventually broke off into smaller cells that vanished with time. During the war, Spectro was captured by one of his opponents, a SS General, and trapped the alien while he was teleporting. The prison, however, was meant for Tupaq. Spectro was only freed when the Soviets stormed the Reich, and only then he regained contact with the restored Palarokhian Order, at a time when several of its members held key positions in the USSR. The Palarokhian Grandmaster, however, wasn't Karzon Valtheran - his position was taken by a Satyr from Alba who was a dragon rider, and claimed to be "Tupaq Chasqui II". Alba, a Chronpuchian colony for some time, was briefly "liberated" with support of the ORS OHORELA during the Topakhon Wars, and even years after it some locals, the Satyrs, remembered the O.O. as a symbol of independence. This would bring some of their own in contact with Topakar revivalists, like the Palarokhians, or rather their Siberian allies, the Dragon Brotherhood from Dantalia. Indeed, Tupaq Chasqui II rides a dragon from Dantalia who's a close ally to its ruler, Snogard, a long time supporter of Tupaq. As for Tupaq, the restoration of a privileged position for the Palarokhian Order under Tupaq Chasqui II coincided with his own return to Earth, he found a worthy Kalku (a Mapuche word describing a "black sorcerer", a "Left Hand Path Sorcerer" or more exactly a sorcerer who works with the Wekufe - "wicked spirits", a possible name for the daevas) born on Chile, from the lineage of a somewhat isolated pre-hispanic Chilote (from the island of Chiloé, in Chile) warlock known to ride the Caleuche (a sentient "Ghost Ship", or rather an undying, yet ghostly and decaying draconian creature). The warlock descends from exiled yacarcae who followed south after the death of Tupaq Inca Yupanqui in 1493, the Caleuche was known by the Palarokhians and the Vovin Brotherhood as an ancient spectral dragon, older even than Snogard, who also opposed Dantalion (a tyrannical dragon who held the Philosopher's stone before Snogard) many centuries ago.

Tupaq knows one of his sons, Capac Huari, still lives to this day, employed by the Saqraruna. Tupaq, however, grew less enthusiastic of his son's potential magic affinities, for his undead and deteriorating form lacked a public likeness which Tupaq believed to be instrumental for his hosts. Capac Huari, however, remained loyal to the Saqraruna - or so it seemed, found and approached by Enigma, the Apkallu intended to destroy him years ago and prevent an eventual new incarnation of Tupaq, but Capac Huari revealed him he too knew Tupaq's goal, since his constant training and meditation in childhood. The way Tupaq treated his own children, putting one against other, was something which made Capac Huari realize his father wasn't human and wasn't a good person, and should be stopped by whatever means. Enigma and Capac Huari came to terms and started to search for ways they could organize a conspiracy against Tupaq, as he also became an unofficial agent of the Apkallu. Worried about the eventual construction of a new Topakhon Mobile using Earth as a template, Capac Huari looked after the final destination of the Spear of Time, the same weapon that destroyed the original Topakhon Mobile. He would only locate it when the Zunis from New Mexico passed it to a Cuetzpalin identified as "Montezuma", in 2009. Tupaq, however, didn't see this coming, and believed the pretext of his quest was destroying the spear.

Literally "the Age of Meeting Ourselves Again", it derives from a quechua saying that means "time to find yourself" and refers to a time in Andean prophecy when "humanity will have the chance to consciously evolve in an era of harmony", "a new golden era in the human experience" that heralds "a coming together again of the Andean people" and "the recreation of a new and better Tahuantinsuyu (Inca Empire)".

In 1965, Tupaq incarnated as a Peruvian naturalized Chilean Revolutionary Soldier, the self-proclaimed "Tupaq Amaru III", who led organized guerrillas in the struggle against the government of puppet emperor Urcon Verbo, and four years later played a vital role in the Socialist Revolution of Tahuantinsuyu, that besides defending an adapted idea of socialism, also defended an adapted pan-indigenous identity –
considering Tahuantinsuyu a greater pre-hispanic nation comprehending Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina and part of Brazil. In the outcome of the Revolution, he was succesful in removing Urcon from power and establishing a new capital – the city of Moche, in the region of Chinchaysuyu (Northern Peruvian Coast), a new party system which privileged the "Communist Party of Tahuantinsuyu" and re-structuring the administrative and educational system, restoring the official use of quechua and aymara languages (albeit keeping spanish), an Inca identity and the division of the state into four suyus ("regions"). Tupaq didn't immediatly ascend to power, instead one of his fellow revolutionaries Umaq Granado did it in 1969 as the head of a provisorial government which lasted for ten years, while Tupaq led the revolution and the newly christened Tahuantinsuyuan Army to expand on its northern and southern borders.
In the next decade, despite the several death threats and ambushes by bounty hunters supported by the CIA, MI-6 and other sectors of the UN, Tupaq resisted and the state of Tahuantinsuyu's legitimacy was supported by the USSR and Cuba, while it annexed cities from Ecuador, Bolivia and Colombia, including major urban centers such as La Paz and Quito, with support of some local militias. During this decade, he also visited central and north america on some occasions, on the first he fought alongside the ELN and on the later he was regarded by some as "a dangerous criminal", yet he managed to stay in the US for a while, and unknown to most (save some "crazed men", "conspiracy theorists" and "false prophets") he was overseeing the construction of a secret
Saqraruna base in Death Valley, Arizona, where his secret associates would finally start the procedures to remove earth's core and replace it with an isolated Black Hole.

In 1979, following the first elections after Granado's Provisorial Government, Tupaq became the President of Tahuantinsuyu and the conflicts continued on its southern borders, as the Mallki (the Cyborg generals of Tahuantinsuyu) led their armies into the territory of the indigenous Mapuche, native to Chile and Argentina. Despite traditional enemies to the Inca in pre-hispanic times, they were also included in the "Tahuantinsuyuan identity" supported by Tupaq and his party's associates, and some of northern Chile's inhabitants actually defended an annexation as a better alternative to the CIA-sponsored brutal dictatorship they were living under, one that defended nationalism, yet benefitted foreigner corporations with its neoliberal policies. The conflicts on the Atacama Desert and nearby towns escalated to an international level when the UK and US military supported the Chilean dictatorship's forces, and the KGB sent some soldiers to back up Tahuantinsuyu's intervention and support for the rebels. This occasion marked the first major test for the super-powered Alpha-Omega series armors produced by the US military engineering enterprise ABEL Inc, and its first units failed to defeat the superior Mallki, as in 1985 the area of Atacama was annexed into Qollasuyu, the southernmost state of Tahuantinsuyu. Tupaq's popularity didn't decrease in the oncoming years, and he kept the national industry growing considerably under his economical standards even after the dissolution of the USSR. His rule was "democratically elected" ("democracy" can mean anything) up to 2000, when he disappeared not long after a visit to a Mexican island. Rumors abound on whether or not the said island, "Bermeja", existed, and whether or not he was killed by some american on the occasion, but no official report has been given. In truth, unknown to most, the island was a source of Teyoliatl – a substance that heals the reptile Cuetzpalin, and cause damage to the Centzonmimixcoa (from the nahuatl "four hundred alike the Cloud Serpent", a.k.a Yana Phuyu – from the quechua "Dark Clouds" and daeva by the persians, a name for a race of shadow entities created from Tupaq in his image and likeness, ancient beings from the Topakhon Wars era that accompanied him most of the time since), and for this reason, in addition to being something bad for Tupaq's own secret plan of replacing the earth's core, he went there with intents of destroying the island – what actually happened, though other elemental gods foresaw his move and trapped him into the Absolute Darkness once again.

The following is part of IN LAK'ECH's main storyline, some of these events are narrated by the point of view of the series' protagonist, William Mattoni.

Tupaq escaped once more in March 29th 2009, his mortal body had been caged into a light-free, oxygen-free prison beneath the water management plant
El Caracol, in Ecatepec, Mexico City. This place was chosen because it contains the remnants of the ancient Lake Texcoco, which had Teyoliatl on its composition before the poor spanish management of water dried most of it (you see, the Mexica were more technologically advanced and civilized than the spanish colony. They just did care more for distribution of water and food, including human and dog meat on ritual occasions, than the manufacture of fire weapons, gold and the slaughter of another variety of sentient animals). For this reason, if Tupaq ever escaped, he'd face his end, for his shadows would be corroded by Teyoliatl. But that didn't happen, some of his secret agents carefully removed the prison with their telekinetical power and a merciful enemy gave him and the Centzonmimixcoa another chance to experience a life in freedom. His return was commemorated by some sectors of society, while others feared new conflicts would arise – just recently the power of the Communist Party of Tahuantinsuyu was reduced, and it was still even less than a decade it became the Republic of Tahuantinsuyu rather than a Socialist Republic – but Tupaq cared less for titles, yet his naming as the Prime Minister in April 1st has surely made a difference. In late September 2009, after series of riots and deaths in Tahuantinsuyuan urban centers, he resigned his position, and seemingly, his daughter Kusi Amaru opposed him (alongside her party, which defends a social democracy), and took that position herself. He went into exile on the Death Valley, where work was carried out rapidly.

Ironically or not, the same who freed him earlier was one of the few who later stood against him, on the teleporting city of Apuqohcan, beneath the Death Valley, in June 2010, a time of greatest need (and absolutely no media footage). The inhuman Cuetzpalin "terrorist" (besides an advocate of non-human animal rights, animal rights and anarchism)
Cuetzpalin Paynal, alongside the pro-indigenous autonomy "militant" Cuetzpalin Montezuma and an Inca-era son of Tupaq, Capac Huari, have prevented Tupaq's efforts in the Death Valley by crushing the underground structures set by the Saqraruna, and Tupaq, too, through the usage of the Spear of Time. Tupaq was heavily damaged, but escaped by ejecting himself into outer space, where he remained for the next two years. Aware that his plans at Earth were being constantly prevented, he ordered Spectro, his right hand, to consider their plan B and continue the creation a fully artificial Topakhon Mobile II in the K Pacha System. By this time, the Saqraruna controlled most of K Pacha, and this ambitious project was only possible with their resources – gathered from elsewhere in the galaxy, including Earth, where it kept bases in the Titicaca Lake, on Qollasuyu, underneath the Nazca Lines, in Quntisuyu, and in the Intihuaca, the administrative center of Tahuantinsuyu on Moche, in Chinchasuyu (it used to have a base in "Xibalba", a series of underground and underwater caves extending from the Yucatán Peninsula into the Caribbean Sea, and also beneath the Death Valley, in Arizona. It also co-owns Dantalia, a base underneath a Siberian crater, and a facility in Kaliningrad).

Meanwhile, the APKALLU reached the last ME, after abducting the dragon Fafnir Hreidmarsson. Fafnir was an influent advocate of the Asatrú faith and ecological concerns which the Norrlander government and the corporations that run it opposed. He often came into trouble while facing governmental decisions in the sale of lands for mining and other industrial activities. In September 2010, following a series of protests on the ancient woods of Alfheimr, one of the last major green areas of Norrland, he disappeared. Some say, in his private marriage with his wife Katharina, he transformed into a hideous creature right after putting the ring in his finger, and from then was expulsed by locals and security, and eventually hunt down by the human people until he got himself into the wilderness, far north from the Midgard Lake surrounding the Alfheimr woods (that were being occupied by some activists, including Katharina), he reached the caves of Hel, where he lived for days preying upon dead carcasses, until he discovered the existence of enslaved dragons and a centuries-old Jötunn organization that kept a covenant with humans. Eventually, he would meet up with Cuetzpalin Paynal, "The Triton" and the Black Knights, and after destroying Hel, frustrating the plans of the Jötunn (by releasing dragons into the wild, including on Alfheimr, where some of them became guardians of the forest, as they preferred a semi-nomadic lifestyle than the oppressive prison they lived under the Jötunn dominance and would likely repeat under the UN and capitalism), he participated in the resistance that defended Alfheimr from the Norrlander military, becoming a leader of the occupation of Alfheimr, which would evolve into a dragon infested, neo-pagan eco-friendly commune that stroke fear in the heart of the Republic of Norrland and its corrupt sponsors. He also reconciliated with Katharina, despite unable to return to his human form. His public appearance brought the Kurgarra and the Apkallu after him, as they identified his ring as a ME, and Enigma, a representative of the secret organization, acted without him or his allies noticing. Using resources from the Saqraruna, Enigma had the bounty hunter Corax capturing him and arranged a meeting of the dragon and the Apkallu in their headquarters - the ruins of the planet Nibiru, in a forgotten solar system. Fafnir would have his mind erased from the event, and the Apkallu would remain unnoticed. Paynal and other anarchists who followed his signal believed Enigma captured him because the Palarokhian Order was involved with the attempted destruction of resistance in Alfheimr, but they couldn't be more wrong. With the knowledge contained on this last ME, Enki could finally step forward. Strangely, he waited for the completion of the Topakhon Mobile II.

With the Topakhon Mobile II in hands, the first thing Tupaq ordered his right hand, Spectro, was to destroy his own homeplanet, alongside all of the K Pacha Solar System, as a test of loyalty, and also t make sure they wouldn't repeat mistakes from the past (Tupaq attributes the losses of the previous wars to betrayal within his ranks. Despite his true goals are unknown even to most of his allies, to know it isn't really the reason why some of them betrayed him in the past). Spectro destroyed most of his own race, but didn't regard them as so, as at the time most of his business was in Earth. The Earth, however, was also a target to Tupaq.

In June 2013, a Chthonian Triton and the dragon Charon (who claims to be a 50 centuries old son of Tupaq, older than the Centzonmimixcoa), have foiled several efforts from Tahuantinsuyuan and Saqraruna officials, and hunt down some Centzonmimixcoa, in an attempt to stop the destruction caused by Topakhon Mobile II, that despite considerably far from Earth (they reached it through a portal in Titicaca), still threatened not only it – but also millions of other sentient beings on other planets, and that was something the Chthonian creature couldn't afford. During their battle against Tupaq, who was caught by surprise in his human form, another group of belligerents took the opportunity to act – the secret APKALLU, led by Ea, who took Tupaq's eye from him and replaced it with a fake Ater Adamantis (composed of a combination of the five hidden elements), forcing Tupaq's consciousness into his human form, while the power and consciousness over the Absolute Darkness, split from Tupaq, was surgically implanted and assimilated into Ea/Enki's own.

Some may believe there's still a chance of redemption for Tupaq. As soon as he arrives on earth, in a divided Tauanyinsuyu, some of its populace still see in him a leader he never seemed to realize, and with their help, he may as well find resolve to expose Fang's allegiance and prevent Enki's plan from coming to fruition – in order to do so, however, he needs to destroy that which he spent centuries trying to create – Topakhon Mobile II. And as he hunts down an invisible threat, his brothers won't rest in trying to kill him. Little do they know they're equally targeted by the APKALLU! The war between the Elemental Gods and the Seven Sages begins!
