Buttons by Itti Buttons by Itti
So I saw the #ArtisanCraft Buttons challenge way back and read some of the tutorials and thought that buttons would be a really cool thing to do. But I didn't get round to it at the time. Anyway, ~art-of-amie was my secret Santa for #Artcrossing and whilst I was brainstorming ideas to give her, one of the things I thought of was buttons because she makes so many things with fabric. And around the same time #ArtisanCraft held a "The Challenge You Missed" challenge (here) which gave me the extra impetus to go ahead with those buttons I'd been thinking about for ages.

Sadly I only had green, yellow and black Sharpies or I'd've done pink ones for Amie. But I tried to create lots of different quirky ones that she might like, which worked to varying degrees (personally I think the four Zentangle ones in the middle are my favourites).

I made her a pile of little gifts rather than one big gift for the secret Santa and I'll be submitting a combined deviation of all of them shortly. Just wanted to share the buttons for now.

I couldn't see a suitable gallery for these - if anyone has a better suggestion than Artisan Crafts - Other, do let me know.

These buttons turned out wonderfully! How did you make them?

Shrinkles! If you haven't heard of it, it's basically just plastic that shrinks. It starts out thin like paper and then gets smaller and thicker when you put it in the oven. :) I saw a bunch of #Artcrossing people making things with Shrinkles and one of the "buttons" tutorials I mentioned suggested it.
