This might be this summer's poster for the annual convention tour. I say "might" because I'm not terribly in my best mind right now, having been completely out of it for about four days and counting, thanks to the dreaded Seattle Plague.

So before I put in an order for these, let me know if this art is actually terrible.

UPDATE!: So I brightened everything up, added some smiles, lost some ducks that cluttered up the compositions, and redrew the duck in front to be two ducks. Also, added some speckly sandy texture to the foreground for shits and giggles. Is not so depressing now?

Dina is just like "Why am I in the beach instead of home watching Planet Dinosaur?"

I can actually see an arc in my head where Dorothy, Sal and Billie practically kidnap Joyce, squeeze her into a one-piece and force her to appear in public wearing it. It isn't particularly revealing but it does make the guys look at her somewhat differently.

A bit of advice, Willis: With the elbow, use a thinner line weight and maybe even replace the line on the elbow with shading entirely. It just looks a bit too striking, even if it is more or less anatomically correct.

O MY GOD. That is awesome! Nice catch, Superdrama!

Oh yeah, and David? You must have weird elbows.

I, uh, really have to disagree about the axe-murderer thing. Really?

post-update the only things bugging me are the following:

sal's elbow still feels...weird, and the shading on the right side of her face seems impossible

joyce looks like she's psychotic. that is an axe-murdering expression

dorothy's legs' shading should probably be a lil' more gradiated, the shape of the shadow is too drastic to be that harsh

other than that it is essentially perfect now!

I dunno, staring at my own elbow is how I worked out Sal's.

The elbow still needs some fixing, but otherwise, I love it!

What's actually happening in the picture is a lot more clear now, but I gotta say, that elbow... did you change it at all? I'm staring at my own and I just don't see that shape.

Hmm, Seattle Plague? I wonder if suburbs of Seattle can get it... * achoo * :(

*thefantasticRJ seems to have covered the big stuff, and better yet he knows the characters' names. (Trust the long-time fans — I've been following your work for only a few weeks.) I think the highlight/shading of the foremost woman (glove girl, Dorothy?) isn't as refined as on the others. The white edges on our left are distracting as well as wobbly.

The composition itself is beautiful, with lots of fun beach activity and the visuals fill the other senses: the squawking of the birds, the feeling of the sand (being buried and also leftmost woman spilling it — why is she trying to hide it anyway?), the water, a few snacks. I love the far background style too with the summer haze, plus the dot-style woods (impressionism is it?) lend extra charm. The sailboat zipping along with little more than its keel in the water and the extra-narrow wake trail gave me a chuckle, but I think it's awesome.

No matter what, I hope you're feeling much better soon.

Just change Sal's elbow and it'll be perfect.

Could do with a bit of cleaning up; the lines seem a bit messy/wobbly in places, which, when printed, will not look so great I think. Joyce/Dina feel a bit static in the background and the composition seems to be leaning right a bit, with nothing in the upper left area to speak of.

Dorothy's expression feels off and Sal's elbow is...-sharp?-, but other than that I don't think there are any problems with how the characters look in general.

Can't see anything else that might be an issue, though!

Sal's elbow looks a tiny bit odd, and the aforementioned mouth. Otherwise very good :)

Looks good - only weird part is Dorothy's mouth. Redraw it and you're golden
