why cant i be good B(((( by itsMYopinion why cant i be good B(((( by itsMYopinion
annoying idiots be like ''omg why cant i be as good as xxxx?? why dont i improve?? my art/writing/yyyy sucks so much :((( '' 90 percent of their time and it's awful.

i hear this a lot among my ... ''why-do-i-hang-out-with-you friends'', sadly the only artists in my small area.
a bunch of whining and no improvement, and their facebook art pages are mostly text about their lack of experience and fishing for compliments instead of investing the time into practice

honestly, if you want to become better at something - practice
whining ain't gonna make you better at it
it just makes you look dumb and pretentious

take the time and do something useful instead, it can't be that hard

Pardon my French but I want this shit on my grave,, oml I cannot TELL you how sick I am of hearing people complain about not improving and going on to do nothing to improve,, like jfc nobody improves overnight, just take a freakin' chill pill and instead of w h i n i n g?? keep working at it, look at tutorials, challenge yourself, whatever, just put in some effort for once you lump of pudding

Actually just hearing people complain over and over and not doing anything to solve the problem is one of my biggest pet peeves,, like if you're cold instead of complaining go get a blanket

A lot of young artists are like this and I wish they didn't think that. They're great artists nonetheless~! It's just different from others and they can ask for criticism if they really want help~!

Note to other learning artists: Please don't complain to your idols and ask them instead to help. If you're too shy, look up anatomy studies and photos references. Try to award yourself every time you make any small improvement you make in your style. Don't back down and doubt yourself. Art isn't meant for fame but for pleasure~! I hope I at least helped you a little bit. I'm not an expert as well~!

My mother keeps asking me things like "Why are you drawing this, are you going to sell it!?" "Will you earn money if I buy you that graphics tablet?!"
So I guess that went deep into my head and I'm trying my best to get fame..

Maybe they're trying to get critiqued but don't know or want to ask.

Even us lifelong artists post pieces we're not proud of to have constructive criticism given to understand how we can improve.

Exactly, and it's so annoying. Don't sit there and whine like a little shit, get the fuck up and improve yourself. I ain't sugarcoating this shit because I've heard this too many times and it's not gonna do anything if I sugarcoat it. And the people who say this stuff at me usually don't do art very often, then they expect a masterpiece? Fuck off.

(Sorry for the excessive swearing, I used to be one of these people (fortunately, not anymore) and I'd see others do the same.)

When I tried to help, she got annoyed I was "criticizing" her.

That's the point!
you need criticism to help improve
but when you give it to people that need help for whatever they get mad
and say that you are teasing them or something

I said that too but with the hands because they were big
and she just complained saying:
"oh I want something EASY" she basically wants everything to be done for her
she even almost forced me to draw a tiger for a project in science...

Thank You for saying this much, since it seems that those people spend more time whining than actually finding ways to improve!

(and I get the impression that a lot of them are also the same ones who complain about people using refs....How can they expect to improve, without using some kind of reference at some point or another??  )

Without a reference, I can't draw a person for my life. You have to learn what it looks like before you can draw it from memory, don't you?

Bows to you

I tell everyone Oh I've spent like 7 years of my life drawing ever since I was little it's just loads of practice

They are like I started last night why am I not amazing like you it'S NOT FAIR.

My math notebook is mostly nothing but sketches and art, I doodle on my tests and homework, any piece of paper is a canvas for me I practice ANY TIME I GET TO WHEN I FEEL INSPIRED one little sketch in the back of your notebook isn't going to make you be Picasso.

I used to think this way, and then I realized there are a lot of people that have mental disabilities online that prevent them from being able to improve- not having the eye-to-hand coordination, for example.  My half brother is like that.

yea so what, that doesn't make it right for them to whine about it 24/7
and even they can improve if they try, for them the time invested in doing their hobby is even more important

People with disabilities should be aloud to complain about it.  This world is made for people without them, so everything is an obstacle.  I know that as a person with them- I won't go into what, but I do have them.  People would use them against me if they found out, since I argue so much on here.

But no, there are people that literally cannot put their art onto paper.  They can't put what's in their head into real life, the same was some people can't speak what's in their head, or can't process what they're seeing in their head.

but if these people really cant bring anything to paper and it's that helpless, i guess it's time for a new hobby
plus, this stamp isn't directed to art only

It's the same with other things, though.  Telling people not to complain or to 'get a new hobby' when in reality there are people with limited abilities anyway, is pretty fucked up.

you don't seem to grasp my point?
if they have limited abilities they can still improve, and so the time they spend complaining could still be invested into improving in their hobby - which would make the whining unnecessairy.

but honestly i have never seen a disabled person complain about their hobby in such a manner, they are usually the ones with more realistic views on life and actual intention to get better.

and you described to me a person who can barely hold a pencil in their hand, at first i would doubt such a person would start drawing in first place... and even if that was the case, if they can't even make a line - just like you explained - the only options are to stop whining (or not even begin with it) and think about a way to make it happen or really get a new hobby. because complaining and not doing shit is toxic for every kind of person, but /expecially/ the limited kind of person you described me as a sample.

complaining and not doing anything is NEVER a good option, no matter if you're poor, disabled, normal, a genius or something in between.
it is not good and nothing that should be accepted just because someone has a different life or other problems.
