Penguin Family's Igloo Nativity

My Christmas card for 2012, inspired by my daughter, who loves penguins. I wanted to create a piece about penguins, family, and also incorporate a subtle religious element. I has toyed with the idea of doing a gingerbread nativity, but like the igloo interpretation better. Artistically, I wanted to push the softness of the lighting and colors, and also incorporate many little details without letting the composition feel too busy, or hard to navigate visually.

Hope you all have many warm and treasured moments with your families and loved ones this Christmas!

Adorable! I am just like the youngest penguin. I love candy canes too much to use them for crafts. I often intend to, but often end up eating it instead. :giggle:

Have you considered offering this as a greeting card print? I think many people would enjoy receiving this image in their physical mailbox.

Thank you!  I typically offer my Christmas cards as prints 1 year after I submit them.  The reason for this is that I use my yearly Christmas image as promotion for my business and as mailers to my clients, and don't want anyone else distributing the image at that time.  So I usually don't upload my Christmas cards as prints until the next holiday season.  Thank you for your interest and kind words!
