Well, after a looong time no posting, i used my day to create something... And i really confess to you, i almost not shared it, but after a couple of moments i thought : "let's go, i have nothing to lose!"

This one more of "going out from paper" manipulation and i really wanted to do something with umbrella, last time it went pretty bad, i posted the manip, but some minutes after i excluded it from my DA. This time i decided it was a little bit pretty to share with my beloved friends here on the DA and rest of the web. Hope you like it!

UPDATE #1:

- improvements on shadowns and lighting on some parts of the body of the girl.
- Reduce the intensity of the source light coming from post.

There is so much that can be said about this picture.

Most of the flaws I see aren't very noticeable, in my opinion, so I'll get my constructive criticism part of this critique out of the way first.

Nitpicky as I am, I can't help but notice how the woman's shadow on the paper is positioned. Its position relative to the body makes it look like it's a bit more off to the side than it should be, especially with angle of the shine of the light-post in the back.

There's also the way her front body curves into the picture. Unlike the back, it doesn't quite meet up with the "drawing" part of the person and so sticks out more, as a result.

As for the parts that are the opposite of flaws...oh wow.

1) I must agree with LadyPounceKnight83. There is so much story that can go into this, so many questions that could be asked about this, no matter how irrelevant they may be. As for comedy, I can how that was your intention on account of the woman's position and how she's trying to keep the umbrella in her hands.

2) Then there's the lighting. It hits the body at the right places and brings focus to the main subject of the artwork, especially at the arms and the umbrella.

3) The part at which the woman emerges from the paper is so well-blended. She really looks like she's in between the worlds of 2D and 3D.

4) My favorite part, though, would have to be the hair. I'm not sure how you pulled it off, but that detail, to me, really shows the comedy you mentioned in the comments. The way the hairs stick out all over really illustrates the woman's struggle to keep that umbrella close.

All in all, this work is gorgeous and well demonstrates your skills at photo-manipulation. Keep up the good work! <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=":) (Smile)"/>

"Its position relative to the body makes it look like it's a bit more off to the side than it should be"

you're right and you did a very relevant comment for me, it really shows her body more off the paper than it shoud be! i'll try to fix that!

In the case of lines on the transition, i think the smashed paper is being confused with the body of her, i will try to fix that too!

the hair i had to draw, cause the original photo does not have it loose like there.

Thanks for all the tips and comments!

Hugs from Iskander.
