So I lay awake at night pondering how to best make a pattern for my art dolls. What is the best way to hide the seams? How can the joints get the most freedom of movement? After stressing about it more than I should have, the common teddy bear came to mind, and remembered I tend to make more mistakes when I over complicate things. Keep it simple stupid. Besides, if you're using fur, it doesn't really matter where the seams are because the fur hides it. In my experience, the pieces hug the shape of the doll best when the neck, body, tail, and legs are all separate prices.
I mark my doll with a dark permanent marker, starting with a line straight down the middle of the back, and straight down the middle of the stomach. I make a pattern for only one side of the doll, since usually th
