Still trying to decide what style I want to render these in. Standard cell shading stays closer to the original art and is faster to do!
Fully rendering them out looks a lot better to me, but takes a lot longer!

Hmm. Decisions decisions! Thoughts?

I love all your stuff but he needs freckles & a floppy haircut. The hounds ears are such a huge part of the character's look, they need to be represented in some way. Also, his overalls are too crisp. Copper was a "po boy" (Not the sandwich or whatever food that is).

It would be cool if you did Tod the fox as a Native American kid

Excuse you sir!! I try everyday to not remember this movie. Now I have this image as well? Thanks, buddy. (But seriously, love your work and hound, who I now call Henry looks wonderful.)

Oh my gosh! This is so cute! I sure hope you plan on doing a humanized Todd and Big Mama too!

The colours of the fully rendered one are so much more vivid!
Also, it is extra nice, since it doesn't quite look like the original art,
but the character is still recognizeable :)

Oh my Gosh, it is so difficult to turn animal characters into humans with the right clothes and everything, and still manage to make them recognizable! But I'm so nuts about well-done results, I love this. You absolutely nailed Copper's kindness and slight insecurity about his environment.

Do you plan to making more humanized characters? Because in that movie, Chief was my favorite. It would be AWESOME to see one picture with both human Copper and human Chief! Training together or something!

Oh, would you do an adult human copper too?

You know what another fun idea would be? The big dark bear, as a human. Making him look like a big mean robber from the forest or something. 8D

I do plan to!

I think I want to do the scene where Cheif first meets Copper, and he naps between his legs. I love that scene!

If you want a person to read it as the character and not have to look at a picture of the character in order to figure out who it is, I would go with the standard cell shading. I do really like the fully rendered version though.

This wonderful humanization makes my heart ache ! This Disney film tore me apart with deep feelings when I was a child ! You managed to capture Copper's distinct look it's uncanny ! Really great work that managed to bring back memories. :)

The fully rendered looks amazing!! It adds so much to the overall concept because you're able to pull and emphasize the color palette. With flats I feel like you're more limited. Though both do look accurate to the character.

I like the standard cell shading, personally!
While yes, its "easier", it also shows the original mood that this is based off of.
At least in my opinion. These are still awesome in either style!
