This is part of my ongoing study/series/project involving local church architecture. If you enjoy this please feel free to check out the gallery with the rest of the project here Dark Halls Project

We where trucking up the coast on our way to take some pictures of the beach and a really cool wreck of a ship *watch this space . When we found this totally isolated church, It was set back off the road by about 1/4 mile with nothing but a overgrown dirt track leading to it. We managed to park up near by and hiked up to the church, to which we found the site still open. The door was ajar, dust and leaves where everywhere and a handful of coins where on the side table. It looked like it rarely saw use but obviously someone local had attempted to maintain it to a degree. It has to be one of the most surreal places I've been to in a while. A sort of abandoned but not abandoned place.

Anyway enjoy the picture - I'm still learning so all comments and critiques are very very much welcome :)

Wooow
and did you just take a photo?
Such an incredible story, I would like to see more pics of the door, the leaves on the floor and the entrance.

I did take a few other shot's but i try to just have one or two to say what i want to say about a location rather than risk repeating myself artistically. I hate to be dull.

You do almost feel like the places breathe and have slow moving thoughts of their own. Pretty magic really :) Im glad you like the shot.

Amazing shot! Your photo has just the right amount of light to show all the details of the interior, while conveying a sense of creepiness and foreboding.

Marvelous!  I love the amount of color, it is perfect for the simplicity of the architecture and the lighting.

I am so glad you like it! - old buildings with their ecclesiastical designs often lend themselves towards fabulous and interesting light.
