Hey there! 
I'm Chantal and from Ontario, Canada. I've been cosplaying since 2008, and to me costuming is the reflection of inner creativity and imagination; the worlds that exist in our minds that manifest what could be possible and express our intrinsic thoughts that make us who we are. It's the embodiment of the love of mediums and the characters and plots that have reached emotions and changed the way we think for the better. Not to mention the awesome people and community that allow this hobby to go beyond just personal expression!
I tend to work very slowly on each cosplay- I'm very picky with my work and strive for my best craftsmanship. Outside of cosplay and every day work, I occupy the rest of my time with friends, admiring others' art, comics/manga, anime, games, reading novels, collecting, occasionally poetry (I like words), and cuddling with my three cats.

I just completed my Zekrom gijinka last month in time for Anime North. It was a lot of work, probably the most time I've put into a cosplay so far (Amaimon is close though, with all those stripes and diamonds), but I'm very happy with the result. My favourite part of wearing it was when people would approach me from the side or my back, and then would see my contacts, and just be speechless or ask how I did it. So I guess this is my first journal! I'm also finally on DA. *thumbs up* I actually had made an account many months ago (7 according to my account, haha), but just didn't feel like filling it out and making it mine (also wanted to wait for new cosplays to be finished). But now that Anime North is over, and after much prompting from :iconThornrose:, I decided to do a mass photo dump of all my cosplays so far. I already like the community here a lot more than other social networking sites I frequent (Facebook and cosplay.com).
