So I haven't posted here in a long time. I've posted fractals to Tumblr (junopsis.tumblr.com
) that I didn't post here, mostly because I get a little more feedback from there. You can check that out if you'd like.
Right now I'm posting a few marbled paper prints that I've been doing. I needed something that wasn't fractals, something that I could get accepted into fine art shows with, and maybe get somewhere. I like doing fractals but there's not much of a market unless you've already got some kind of contact network, I think. Submitting work to companies unsolicited doesn't get you anywhere.
I attended the Orlando Maker Faire and actually sold some marbled prints, so what I'm hoping is that when I go to an Altamonte show next March (and possibly some things sooner, I don't know) I will do all right. I plan on getting pretty experimental with masking and printing tricks, and getting a bigger pan to maybe turn out some large pieces.
If I do really well, I might be able to find an agent to place prints, and that would be really amazing. I'm terrible at networking, but the more shows I'm in (and the more I take constant notes to remember names and companies and dates, because years of convention crafts has taught me that I do not unless I take notes the moment after an encounter), the more likely it is that I can find people who like my work enough to risk business on it.
