And honestly, I can empathize with you. In a fandom I used to be a part of, there was this one character everybody thought to be underage, despite an extreme lack of real evidence of such. And thus, they attacked people who liked a popular ship involving that character, on grounds that the ship is “pedophilia,” when the whole notion is based on a baseless assumption.
