Description

Hawklords are a powerful race of superheroes from the planet of Stormhell which is also known as Hastur by InterGard forces. The Hawklords are the protectors of the hollow interior world of Stormhell which is a deadly alien jungle constantly lit by the power of the mysterious Blue Sun which sits at the centre of the planet. The outside of the planet is a desolate waste sparsely populated by human colonists under the protection of InterGard.

Hawklords can fly, although the small wing-like appendages on their heads are not necessary for this but instead aid in balance, steering and non vocal communication. I imagine them flying in a fairly static manner similar to how superman is depicted as opposed to the more fluid depiction seen in Viltrumites.

Another race of superheroes I created, the Boralaks DO move like Viltrumites but these will be detailed in another post.

Hawkborn Braves are the younger warriors of their culture, less powerful but easily kept in line by the Elders, they start out their service to their clan in groups of five, called "Flight Squadrons" these groups have no internal structure laid out by clan rules. This ensures a natural leader will emerge. The groups are closely bonded and fill the role of sibling groups in the asexual life-cycle of Hawklords.

Hawkblood Berserkers are older and more experienced. Squads of Braves will be promoted to Hawkbloods when they are deemed worthy by a clan Elder, they turn their hair and winglets red by drinking a magical hot chocolate. This does not grant them any special powers beside the reverence of their peers. This often makes them somewhat arrogant and boastful. Squads of Berserkers are usually less than 5 because of casualties (amongst Braves) or individual members being promoted further.

Hawklord Elders are the officer class among the clan military structure. They are always promoted from Berserkers, usually those who have matured into more calculating individuals. Promotion to Elder is not seen as having the same step up in prestige as becoming a Berserker. Rather it is seen as an honourable retirement from Squadron duties. While they are commanders they encourage those under them to act as independently as possible and welcome questions about strategy and battle plans, acting as mentors for the Braves and as an example for the Berserkers. Elders are identified by silver hair, which they give themselves by ingesting a metallic pill. This process is permanent like with the hot-chocolate ceremony but has none of the pomp, Elders always carry a few of these pills with them on campaign should a new Elder need to be promoted.
