The Scoop: PersephoneStock and I are hosting our very first contest!


It's called the "Good Girl vs. Bad Girl Contest", and it's pretty open ended so you shouldn't have much trouble being creative.

And now we have an example of a deviation that we would accept for our contest theme. It was made by the lovely PersephoneStock.

EXAMPLE: Two Sisters of Persephone by Wig-wam

She didn't tell me exactly what she meant by it yet, but I have my assumptions. As I'm sure you may have yours.

The contest is vague, but I want you to be CREATIVE.
All we're REALLY looking for here is opposites.

The Objective:

Our idea is for you to create an image that portrays quite obviously, a "good" girl, and a "bad" girl. How you choose to interpret this is at your own discretion. Examples may include light/dark, naughty/nice, summer/winter, big/small or any other other kinds of opposites. Or you can go off in a completely different direction as long as you can convince us it follows the theme of Good Girl vs. Bad Girl.

The Rules:
1. The image must portray some idea of Good vs. Bad.
2. Contest is open to any medium.
3. You may submit as many entries as you want.
4. You can either submit one deviation that uses both of our stock, OR you may submit two different deviations, one representing "good" and one representing "bad" using a photo from PersephoneStock for one and a photo from intergalacticstock for the other.
However, if you choose the second option, you must submit two images to qualify.
4. You must include at least a brief explanation in your description as to what your deviation means, and have a link to our contest. :D

To submit your image, send a note to BOTH intergalacticstock AND PersephoneStock with "Contest Submission" as the subject and a link to your deviation.

Prizes:

There will be *five winners: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Submissions will be judged on three elements. Firstly, we'll look at how visually pleasing it is. Next we'll take into account creativity and originality. And lastly, don't be discouraged if you're not the very best artist here on DeviantArt, because we'll also be looking at effort. Not necissarily skill level or talent, but the amount of work you put into the deviation.

I haven't made a journal post in ages, but I figured it was time to give a little update to prove that A) I'm still alive and B) I still check this deviantart account sometimes. I love seeing all the art people are still making with my stock despite the fact that it's been quite a while since I posted anything new, so know that your work is still being appreciated.Anyway, I spend most of my time making videos on YouTube, blogging or traveling now days, so you can still find me in lots of other places on the Internet. I'm sure someday I'll post new stuff here, because I can never truly separate myself from my love of doing stock photography...

Just wanted to preface this by saying that it took Luke and I a really long time to come to a final decision on this. We received so many great entries, and honestly wished we were putting out multiple albums so we could pick more than one!When we closed the competition last night, we calculated the number of art pieces to be submitted somewhere around 350 total. You guys are awesome! We can't believe how much hard work went into this.That being said, one had to be picked. I just uploaded some new stock images about a half hour ago from a shoot I did this summer and then... just... forgot to upload the rest of the pictures.
