On occasion I've been asked about my process. So here is how I draw in the real word before i scan and import to Photoshop.  Raven by Inspector97

I use a 3H lead in a mechanical/Drafting/propelling Pencil, Sharpie markers and Micron Pigma pens to draw  IN THE REAL WORLD

May I ask, how do you edit in Photoshop afterwards? I used to draw comic strips in pencil and black pen, but after scanning and adjusting brightness/contrast for pure black and white, the spots from eraser dust would show up and  I got tired of spending hours to remove it... now it's vector life for me :D

I adjust the image threshold to eliminate most of the marks and tonal shifts

Huh.

This has opened up ideas for how to improve my line art so that it looks better when i scan it.

and Raven looks awesome, cant wait to see it colored.

I use A drafting pencil...or propelling pencil with a 3H lead.... the use a Sharpie to do the boarders of the character and a Micron Pigma .005 .01 .03 .05 .08

Really, because it looks like an average pen instead of a pencil in the photo.

I'll have to try this out, thank you and keep up the good work on your art. It's inspiring.
