Idol Power (850) Toxic Life Vacation (Request)

Lucy Carlson moved her ink pen across the page as she made the manga panels. She was a manga artist and she was starting to approach her deadline…the bags under her eyes and the stress of getting everything out on time. She couldn’t even celebrate her birthday which was today, instead she was sat at her desk and worked worked worked.

She did a stretch to loosen her body up but when she brought her hands back down she hit the ink well spilling the black ink on the bottom of the page. “Ragh…great just great!” She had just finished drawing the panels and now with a splot of black at the bottom the page was no longer good.

Lucy started to cry from frustration “Why did I take this line of work!?” There was then a ring at the doorbell “Great…now what?” she groaned.

Lucy went to the door and opened it up…no one was there, but there was a small wrapped gift box. “To Lucy From A Friend” the tag read.

Lucy grabbed the gift and shut the door, someone gave her a birthday present. She knew she needed a mental break so she took the box to the couch and sat down. She slowly undid the wrapping wanting to make the moment last forever to put off working on manga pages. She opened the box and there was a note on top of tissue paper. She took the note and read it out loud “I know your childhood dream, don’t give up on it. This gift should help give you a “vacation” from your toxic life.”

She then removed the tissue paper and was shocked…there in the box was a wooden carving of a pillar with a flame on top, a fire type idol. “A transformation carving!” Lucy exclaimed stepping away from the box. She of course knew very well about the idols that one physical touch and she would become a Pokemon. “Who sent me this?”

Lucy then looked at the note again…she didn’t recognize the hand writing…she read it again, childhood dream. As a kid she dreamed of becoming a Pokemon…then the carvings appeared and she would search and search…but never find one, like they were eluding her. She figured it was destined that she didn’t become a Pokemon, so she just carried on and eventually became a manga artist. Now right here in front of her was the key to becoming a Pokemon like she used to dream.

“So that’s why “vacation” was in parenthesis.” Lucy said since she knew this would be permanent.

Lucy debated in her head a long time…should she become a Pokemon or not. There was no telling what she would become, just that it would be a fire type. Something that eluded her…something that forced her into the situation she was in now…she…she had to take the chance since there would never be another chance, even if it would be permanent, if need be she could become a wild Pokemon.

She took a deep breath and grabbed a hold of the idol, she then heard a deep male voice in her head say “You have been chosen” making her drop the carving on the floor. What Pokemon say they hear before transforming was true. Lucy waited a few moments…and then the changes began.

Lucy scratched violently all over her body, brown fur covered her hands and feet, white fur covered her chest and belly, her long brown hair turned orange, and the rest of her body was covered in reddish brown fur. She then felt a crushing sensation all over her body as she shrank down to only two feet tall, causing her clothes to pile up around her. Her hands and feet started to hurt, she looked at her hands and saw her thumbs and pinkies shrink away while her remaining fingers became short and stubby making her hands like paws. Meanwhile her big and pinky toes shrank away and her heel was forced upward making her back feet into paws. Pain then struck her spine as her tailbone split into six and each one grew a orange furry tail, that curled outwards on themselves. Then there was a crack from her spine as she fell on all fours…she tried to stand but she was stuck as a quadruped.

Her throat burned as audible popping and crunching could be heard from her head as her skull began to reshape. Her nose reshaped into a black triangle and then stretched out with her mouth to make a reddish brown furry muzzle. Her ears moved higher up on her head and stretched becoming pointy. Her hair then restyled curling outwards into three bunches on the top of her head, with a little bit of hair laying on her forehead. Her blue eyes burned as her eyes became fully brown pupils and all. Her mind then raced with information telling her how to move in her new body, how to use moves, instincts all followed by the word Vulpix.

“A Vulpix…that’s what I've become?” Lucy questioned as she looked over her body. I slight smile grew on her face as she started moving around as a Vulpix would. “This is so fun.” She then tried to use her powers and moved things with her mind using Confusion, like picking up tables and chairs.

After a while though she realized that she had one very important thing to do. She picked up the idol and went opened the door with Confusion. Then she headed out, she had to turn the idol into the police and get herself registered.

She arrived at the police station and the person at the desk took the idol from her and handed her the registration forms. Lucy was having a hard time filling the forms out she could moved the pen with Confusion but it was a little hard to control. When she got to the question of staying a part of society or becoming a wild Pokemon…she paused, she felt tempted to become wild, this was permanent so why not live the full experience and stay out of her toxic life. But after thinking about it some more there were just some societal comforts that she couldn’t live without…like not having to hunt for her food. She chose to stay a part of society, she could always go wild if it became too much.

After filling out her registration she was given her “Rage Virus” vaccine and she was set to go.

Lucy returned home and looked at the pages and ink of the manga she was working on. She sighed then walked to her bedroom, she would continue to work on them tomorrow as she still had to make a living, but she hoped it would be easier with Confusion. But for now she jumped up onto the bed and curled up like the little Vulpix she had become, this was her life now and she was going to enjoy it.
