Sign Repetition 2013 by insanity-pillz Sign Repetition 2013 by insanity-pillz
Location: Mohawk College, Fennel Campus - Hamilton, ON
Camera Used: Canon 100

An assignment that I did recently for photography.
For this one, I wanted to create the illusion of leading lines in a photograph. Leading lines is a technique used in photography to direct the eye of the viewer to a focal point, creating the illusion of depth and perspective. It can be used in creative ways, but the best way to pull this technique off is to use a simple path of leading lines.
At the campus, there's a huge Mohawk sign that faces one of the main streets that has the most traffic flow. The sign is constructed like this on the side that shows the metal pipes that hold up the structure. It was here that I thought that it would be neat to capture a photograph like this as it creates a sort of leading lines pattern through the gaps of the sign. Not to mention the reflections on the metal look neat with all of the distortions.
