Photography Montage: Monet Technique by insanity-pillz Photography Montage: Monet Technique by insanity-pillz
For our final photography assignment for the semester, we had to take pictures using the Monet technique. The Monet technique is used to make a blurring effect with the image by putting the camera on a low shutter speed and taking a picture while you move the camera. This results in a blurred, but intricate photograph. Some people find this trick effective when taking pictures of flowers, it works best when there's a variety of vibrant colours. It's named after Claude Monet, in which it mimics his style of Impressionist painting.
For this, I used a rather gaudy skirt that was hiding in my mom's closet that was with a matching coat. I think she had this before I was born; it looks very 1980's. It had many patterns and rich colours so I expected that it'll be quite useful for my final project.
I took several pictures for comparison, but I like them all equally for the essence of movement and the unique patterns. I might load the actual photo jpegs later, but for now this will do.

Thanks, I've been thinking of doing a redo of this montage. I think the placement of images can be worked on a little more thoroughly.
