In one of the corners of the pond, there was a wet pile of downy feathers strewn over the water. Those feathers came from this guy . . . or girl, I couldn't tell since it's a juvenile. This Great Blue Heron was one of the spearers found at the pond that day. This one hasn't reached it's adult plumage yet so it's hard to distinguish it's sex. But the neck on this young beauty is incredible! No doubt it'll become a lovely adult Great Blue soon.
