Mistborn RPG - Alloy Heroic Archetypes

A series of character portraits illustrating potential archetypes for players of The Mistborn Adventure Game, and it's latest update, based on the western-flavored Alloy of Law.

From left to right starting at the top: Bounty Hunter, Gambling Belle, Gentleman Koloss-Blood, Gunsmith Lawkeeper, Roughs Scout, Survivorist Preacher, Traveling Salesman, Broadsheet Reporter.

I did dozens of these, they're scattered all over the book. I had a lot of fun with 'em, I'm a sucker for western-themed material and of course, I'm one of the first fans of The Alloy of Law, because I worked on the novel as well. :D

The woman on the upper right is how I'd imagine Ranette to look like. I also like that she's sporting the Scandrial equivalent of a C96 Mauser. Makes sense that a gunsmith lawkeeper would be one of the first to use a semiauto pistol.

I love the variety of guns and also the variety of hats.

I thought the preacher's spear was just a weapon before I noticed the one on his book.

Nope, old-school hardcore Roughs Survivalist preachers have carried a spear as the symbol of the Survivor's Fate since the last days of the Final Empire. It comes in useful both in sermon and on the road. Thousand-and-one uses for a long stick with a sharp bit on the end. :D

I am so glad Sanderson is making a whole trilogy in this setting. Think you could pitch some of these to him, have them added as characters? I suppose some of them are already in the books, but the Gentleman Koloss-Blood would be interesting to see.

Brandon sees everything I do for the games, so if he wants to include a character based on one of these illustrations, it wouldn't be the first time he's done so. But a lot of these designs are for adventures out in The Roughs, and there haven't been a lot of opportunities (so far) to cast these characters.

That being said, many of them feature in the gamebook as play examples, and there's a lot more in there besides. :D

Absolutely loved this book and was positively giddy when I heard Brandon was making a series out of it. This is a great showpiece for the setting.

I love them 0.0  Must...  Have...  Awesomeness...  Want...  Mistborn powers....  So bad...

....  Also feruchemical powers...

Pewter (allomantic) and iron (feruchemical) is one of the combos I think would be interesting for twinborn btw.  Hulk jumps are my basic reasoning.

Okay, I am a huge fan of the books and love all of them, but this here ... this is like opening the books even wider and showing me more of the world around it. Thank you for this rare opportunity.
