Inkscape is an Open Source vector graphics program with similar capabilities as Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw and Xara. Although somewhat less powerful compared to some of the paid software out there, Inkscape has a plethora of features with a simple, clean and easy to understand UI. So, what is Inkscape?
My article "A Crash Course in Inkscape" has just been updated with some minor corrections and suggestions from Alexandre Prokoudine of Libre Graphics World libregraphicsworld.org. (The shameful thing was that his email was buried under a pile of spam.)
This is geared towards Inkscape newbies and those curious about the open-source vector program. The goal is to quickly get new users up and running in Inkscape. I cover all of the basics and then some.

Also I was told by Prokoudine that Inkscape could export to Gimp's XCF format. So far In Mac, Windows, and Fedora, my copies of Inkscape are missing that option. If you know of an easy (it doesn't have to be easy) way to enable Inkscape's ability to export to XCF, send me a message or a link.

Hello I love Inkscape although the ui is slightly hard to navigate when compared to Adobe Illustrator or even Affinity Designer
