Overall, the artwork seems pretty damn solid. Nice coloring, details on the grass, the trees, the eyes, it all looks pretty solid. Like that the membrane of the wings are actually see through that's a clever little details.

Really the only major thing I have a critique for or it's more a question. Near the Dragon's face the scales or atleast I'm assuming those are scales look more like fur and I have to wonder whether that was intentional or not. If so that's fine, if not well just something to point out.

Another thing is that I noticed you added some details to show the scales on the dragon's body, though I don't think they are quite visible enough. It's fairly apparent you're going more with a scale covered dragon than some other designs and usually the scales appear more pronounced or atleast easy to distinguish. Unless you want to go with some other kind of design.

Point being you could add a little more detail to make it more apparent that the dragon has scales as while what you've added can or atleast hints at scales it's not detailed enough and I'd make them a little bigger, more detailed something along those lines.

Still a really solid piece of art.

i love the art style you chose for this it gives it a friendly and elegant but strong willed to her that makes her stand out. the background is also good it shows she has a sense of curiosity to things instead of needless destruction. also the transparent wings are a lovely touch its something i haven't seen in most dragon pictures. there were some things that i have to note though for one on the back hind leg you put a claw on one of the toes but not the other. the second thing is the little tooth in my opinion you should get rid of it but its up to you. and lastly on the tail there is a big spine i dont know if its intentional or an accident.all in all this is a great piece the only things i mentioned were me just nitpicking but still
you did great my hats of to you cant wait for more

I may not have read the story to which this character belongs to, but I do have an eye for such detailed art as well as a love for dragons and I have to say: this piece of art is magnificent! I love the elegant coloring, the shading is spot-on, and oh my gosh the see-through wings are just to marvel over!

The vision is crystal clear, the originality of the character is just beautiful, especially with how she's captured, this technique you use is something I love about a drawing, given how beautiful the nature around her is. You can see the heat radiating from the sun above, the shapely structure of the rocks she's standing upon, etc.

And the impact it has on me exceeds what I would have expected from other digital art I tend to see. All in all, I give this artwork five stars out of five! I hope to continue to see beautiful artwork such as this!

It definitely looks as though there is a look of trying to understand the world in her eyes. It also looks as though she's observing the world around her the middle of journey.
I've seen a lot of different pictures of dragons and I don't think I've ever seen them with a transparent wings until yours. I still feel the need to mention this despite the fact I've seen Erwin before.
You combined your cartoonish look and detailed look very well. Not only that but you also added a blur to the some of the background and to the Erwin which actually changes the viewers perspective on how the viewer would think of the portrait. It, in part, implies that Erwin is trying to blend in with her surroundings. If any complaint is to be had, it looks as though you are only just starting to use blur however I still feel as though it is appropriate to use but, it is used a little to liberally. It is still welcomed over having not used it or only just using it in the background.
The main focus is Erwin the dragon who pops out because of the red scales when compared to the green an brown background it uses complimentary colors pretty well. the blur helps make part of her pop out of the background.

Seriously! It's F***ing amazing! The only proof I needed was the fact that the top wing membrane is sort of see-through. That's is the best part! By now technology can make insane graphics, but adding so much detail without much experience can ruin art. You, my friend, committed to this incredibly! The only thing that could ever top this is an entire large picture on a large scale. Like a city. With this example of skill and experience, I believe you can easily do it with enough time and commitment.

Oh, and personally, the only thing that bothers me is the underbelly scales. This may be coming from me being a TLOS fan, but it seems to me to be to short at the front. Another is the fact there's no reptilian scale patterns, but I'll let it slide because it's not completely necessary. It would have made it even more awesome than it already is, though!

And to finish it off, the horns are the best part. So original!

She looks nice. Is she going to be a Dragon forever?
FireswordDragon's avatar
I think we're just gonna have to wait. I don't think that she's going to stay as a dragon. After all, that's why she's on this adventure after all. Why did she go to Cerubi City? Why did she go with Gerel to his village? She's scared of being in a dragon's body. There's just too many unknowns and too many strange things to being a dragon, that it would take years to fully adapt. She just wants to be a human again. But the longer it takes to find a way to change back, the more she gets used to her new body. Eventually, she'll want to stay as a dragon. She basically is on a timer. A race against natural instincts from taking over.

Surely the final piece, the magnum opus of the series!

Wow, Ink. Where do I even begin? The background? The shading? The overall style? Words can not describe how amazing and outstanding this piece is. I absolutely KNOW you worked hard to get here from square one. Let me just say, you managed to capture everything about Dragon Queen. The style, the theme, the overall feeling? I'm just impressed how Aelwen here looks just like how I'd imagine when reading your novel. Also, very nice how you included the dragon underbelly I mentioned before when I thought that was missing, because I don't believe that was in the original design. But now because of that? I can certainly tell 198% that it IS indeed a dragon with passion, style, and overall color and flavor. Nice work on every aspect of Aelwen here! The wings, the body, the head, and the claws. You've managed to take everything that I truly admire and take into design when it comes to dragons, and mashed them all into one masterpiece deserving of more praise than this world can muster. I am not worthy of this level of artisticness, to witness one making a piece of true art THIS high in commitment. I really do mean that. In fact, this whole original story you came up with the begin with? You as Nostalgia Critic once said, took nothing, and turned it into something. You managed to take a basic concept of dragons and mystical settings and turned it up to a whole hidden playground series that I have never before witnessed on the web in the 6 years I've been on the internet. What's even better? I've mentioned before, I'll say it again, your overall flow when it comes to adding the pizzazz when people can recognize some possible Zelda or League of Legends influence. It also makes people who've played those series connect and get an understanding of the technique you're going for. From all your art, your masterpieces, your inspiring content, your fanfiction of an original series, all the way down to this final magnum opus capturing every single detail shows true commitment and how hard you've worked to get here. Finally, your drawing of depicting this forest isn't even the icing on this gold velvet cake. You draw backgrounds with more detail and effort that I would never expect to see anywhere else. It literally makes me think of Picasso combined with Little Red Riding Hood. Except I'm going to come out and straight up admit your artwork here is over 1,000,000,000 more better and much more inspiring than any other art pieces combined. This is not art. This is not a masterpiece. This isn't even Picasso Level of talent. This is an otherworldly style of art. And it will always make me remember it for absolutely ALL the right reasons.

To end this on a final note, Ink, from the very moment I started watching you, I knew I was making a right decision. I KNEW that you were the kind of person to give me all the hope, inspiration, and encouragement to do what I do to reach where I am today. Because of this, you are without a doubt the most inspiring person I have ever met (even though I've never really met you), on the internet. You are that one gem with ultra pure shininess in a group of duller rupees. All I have to say now is: Keep up the great work, Ink Rose. Keep being the most talented, inspiring, and creative creator in this fandom. In this WORLD. Keep up everything, Ink. I believe in you.
