Batman 700 cover

This just went up on the DC Message Board, so I guess it's cool to post it here. I found this to be quite an iconic image by Dave Finch, and the fact that it's the cover to Batman 700 is quite an honor for me. I'm still getting a handle on how to interpret Dave's style so that it's unmistakeably Finch, but also has some of the Williams flavor. The first couple of DC covers I did with Dave (which I will share soon) were mostly pen, but this was all brush, with the exception of the background buildings and bricks. Dave draws so well, it's my job just to not screw it up.

I tried coloring this one packy1800.deviantart.com/art/B…

Yes, the inker should embellish the pencils not destroy them.. I think you did Finch justice..
A question: Do you remember Malcolm Jones III? (RIP) He and I were good friends... Anyway he was so used as an inker because he was so intricate.. But he was a great penciller too.. He use to tell me I was sort of like him because we both did most of our work in the inking.. I am going to be coloring a piece he gave me in 1995, about 7 months before he left us.. It is a one of a kind, piece that was never published.
