Decided to write a short story to go with this quick digital drawing I did of ERS Call of the Wild. Hope you like it! :happybounce:

"You will never have this day again so make it count!" -Unknown

Wild Thing had woken up that Monday morning with one thing on his mind: Running. He paced around his stall for a moment, trying to get anyone's attention, but everyone else was fall asleep in their stalls. Feeling mischievous and rebellious, he started kicking the walls of his stall in order to demand some attention. He stopped for a moment to quickly glance out of the window of his stall to discover that the sun had risen and revealed a light blue sky.
"Will you stop!" Came a shout from the stall on his right, Wild Thing glanced over into the stall to see a disgruntled Tycoon glaring at him in disgust. "It's Monday morning, and I want to get some rest before my early morning exercise ride." Tycoon informed in a agitated whisper.
Usually, Tycoon was the sweetest horse in the barn, always happy to see you and super laid-back, but without his beauty sleep he was as ornery as a rattlesnake. "Ty, I want them to let me out." Wild Thing replied as Tycoon stood up and shook the bedding off his blanket, "Well there's no way I'm going to sleep now. If I let you out, will you stop all of this?" He asked and waited for an answer.
Excitedly, Wild Thing jumped up and down,"Yes, I will!" With a nod, Tycoon opened his stall door with ease and walked over to Wild Thing's, just as he reached for the latch, the barn lights flicked on.
"Tycoon! Come here. " Tessa, their trainer called out as everyone in the barn slowly woke up.
With a now happy nicker, Tycoon trotted down the aisle like a parade horse, showing off his polka-dotted blanket he'd gotten.
Shaking his head and muttering, "So close." under his breath, Wild Thing poked his head into the aisle in an attempt to open the door himself while Tessa chased Tycoon into the paddocks.
"I can open this myself, I don't need him." He said aloud to no one in particular, he wiggled and jiggled the lock with no success.
"I think you need his help." ERS Wicked Sixshooter said with a yawn from across the aisle.
"No, I don't. Just looks like I'm going to have to make my Grand Prix aspirations known today." He said in reply and trotted a quick circle and jumped through the half door and into the aisle. Without hesitation, he ran out of the barn and made his way to the track, he wouldn't need a rider or tack today.
He just wanted to be left alone, at this point, Fair Play wasn't as fiery or rebellious as he was. He trotted out onto the track, taking in the scene of the empty track on a misty morning, feeling the turf underneath his hooves. Without any prompt, he began to run.
Thundering down the track as if he were at the Belmont, he shook the buckles on his blanket and it fell off as a cape behind him. He ran on until he heard hoof beats behind him, Tessa had caught and mounted Tycoon and took him to round up Wild Thing. In protest, he continued to run until a rope slipped around his neck and forced him to stop. "Time for breakfast." Tessa said and led the escapees back to the barn. "This isn't over." Seethed Wild Thing as she led the pair back inside.
