Holiday Card Project 2012
It's back! With the goal of bringing a little cheer to patients in the hospital during the holiday season, the deviantART Holiday Card Project connects deviants from around the world and applies their tremendous artistic abilities in designing and creating uplifting holiday cards.
In past years, the Project has received more than 5,000 cards sent in by more than 1,000 deviants from 50 different countries/political regions. Cards were then divvied up and distributed in-person by deviantART members to local Los Angeles, CA hospitals, with additional cards given to various hospitals in the U.S. and abroad for hospital staff members to hand out to patients.
The idea behind the Holiday Card Project is simple: do something nice for others. However, if you're looking for even more incentive, every deviant who submits a card will be given a free one-month Premium Membership to deviant

Myth: Respect Must be Earned
Everyone goes blind...
Yes, just like the age-old adage goes, "An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind." Think about it: if you never give respect but expect to receive it, and every other person on the planet thinks the same thing, who is ever going to be respected? If your default setting is to treat me with disrespect or to simply ignore me until I impress you enough to take notice of me, you really aren't worth my time. And I would think that if someone treated you in the same way that they would not be worth your time either. Our default setting should always be to respect first. Even if you don't think all people deserve respect like I do, you still should understand that stating that YOU don't have to earn respect but everyone else does is HYPOCRITICAL and SELFISH.
Respect has no charge associated with it. There are no tricks that one must perform to get respect. It isn't magical. It isn't a fairy tale. It does not require a remote co
Please Read this, it's important~
Wanna kill yourself? Imagine this.
You come home from school one day. You've had yet another horrible day. You're just ready to give up. So you go to your room, close the door, and take out that suicide note you've written and rewritten over and over and over You take out those razor blades, and cut for the very last time. You grab that bottle of pills and take them all. Laying down, holding the letter to your chest, you close your eyes for the very last time.
A few hours later, your little brother knocks on your door to come tell you dinners ready. You don't answer, so he walks in. All he sees is you laying on your bed, so he thinks you're asleep. He tells your mom this. Your mom goes to your room to wake you up. She notices something is odd. She grabs the paper in your hand and reads it. Sobbing, she tries to wake you up. She's screaming your name. Your brother, so confused, runs to go tell Dad that "Mommy is crying and sissy won't wake up."
Your dad runs to your room. He looks at yo
My New Group!!! :D
Hey Guys! Been on dA for a while, and I decided it would be a great idea if I made a group! Now this group isn't all just about one thing, it's EVERYTHING. Now this group is called #MeaningLovePassion, which is a group where you can submit anything that is meaningful, loving, and/or passionate to you. Whether that could be poetry, fanfics, adventure time, regular show, mlp, anything really. Comics, dark/emotional, ANYTHING. It would mean THE WORLD to me if you could just give my group a chance! Also, let me know if you have any suggestions on what I should do for the group! Also, if you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments below or just message me. I will try to write back to you as soon as I can.
Like colorful sparks
Of dying embers
Soothing a broken heart
Of a lover’s lost
She sings to herself
Cleansing her body of the past
Hoping to feel whole again
Refreshing water pours down
As she raises her scarred hands
Into the air
She smiled softly
And leans back against the tub
Sinking deep into a world of froths
Drowning her sorrows
No more pain
Only everlasting peace
“I knew you were right.” I had muttered the words more to the ground then to my best friend, who was sitting next to me on the dirty supposed-to-be white floors of the old school. His arm was around my shoulders and our sides were pressed together. No one was around, seeing it was half way through fourth period; so we were completely alone, which was good. No one would see me this way.
“Shh,” he hushed me, rubbing small circles on my arm with his other hand. “My being right isn’t important. Are you going to be okay?”
I thought about this for a long moment of time. Was I going to be okay? “No,” I finally answered, shaking my head, the tears running down my cheek becoming steadier. “I won’t be. The… the break up was horrible. I-“ I cut off as a small sob escaped my throat. “I loved him…”
“I know you did, hun,” he muttered, pulling my head to his chest, letting me cry into his mus
