The Soul Drift by Inebriantia The Soul Drift by Inebriantia
"Why doesn't the flow lead us to the tingling and innocent burning of our inner souls. Why does it make us captive and forgotten...?"

Inside me, this image exerts an extremely strong desire of returning to the womb. As we grow, we tend to get tied up on an increasingly complex web of pressure, demands and suffering that we never thought possible. A few times, we are violently pulled up from it and start wondering: "How have I lost it all? Who stole my innocence, my happiness amidst the simplest things?".

I don't know who stole mine... but I guess I'm the thief....

In the end, there's just a huge mass of souls marching against the stream, farther away from the sun...

José Ramos

Used Cokin 3 stop ND Grad to darken the sky.
Post processing with levels, contrast and colour balance adjustment, as well as yellow and red channel strong saturation. Sharpening applied in the end.

PS: this concept came to my mind during a conversation with a special person. To that person, thank you...

Im running out of steam on your photos because each one I come accross is as stunning as the one before it, I simply want to add every one I have seen so far to my fav list. But alas I can't one must practice constraint!

There are two features in this photo that I really like, the first is that sun set and the way it gives extra detail to the silloueted tree line and adds warmth and colour to the clouds in the sky. The seccond feature is the reflection on the river, it's so nice to look at as it gradients from one end to the other with different colours.

Really nice to look at, thanks for sharing.

A fotografia nao podia ter sido mais bem tirada e os retoques mais bem dados.
Esta forte e bastante emotiva esta fotografia e a tua descriçao ainda lhe dá mais valor.

but you ask for critique so imo, i think that the sky is too oversaturated in contrast to the foreground

hmmm it is still very well done

I'd probably alter the lower right corner so it doesn't blend so totally into the border. Maybe an off-setting thin white border before the black, just 3-5 pixels. That'd give some distinction to the lower part of the image, whereas right now the composition is lost a bit as your eye wanders directly from image into the border.

I think your focus here is on the water and it's path, the journey from dark blue water back to the golden pools. In most of your images the sky is dynamic and stunning, a huge part of the over all effect but here it seems to be distracting. The really moving, powerful part of the image is the ground. I'd darken or reduce the sky.

Great concept and the water is stunning.
