Character Name: Mia Dukana
Age: 26 at time of death
Species: Ghost (previously Human)
Appearance: Her appearance is similar to how it was when she died: a short black haired, mildly chubby white girl wearing a white pullover hoodie with a bear design on the front, a grey t-shirt underneath, faded blue denim shorts and stripey rainbow-pattern trainers. She has multiple bruises across her body, with more pronounced and gross-looking ones on her chest and stomach covered by her hoodie and shirt. Seems like it was the crushing and splintering of her ribs that ended her.
Personality: Mia was, at first, a shy girl, rarely interacting with others during her time spent alive. After her unfortunate demise and discovery of her bubble-related powers, she's still a rather reclusive spirit but she at least has a way of gathering the attention of other lonely souls like herself. She shows a trance-like love for bubbles and enjoys interacting both with them and with others using them, but seems to show quite the desire to contain whoever she's with inside one of her ghostly bubbles as it lets her finally connect with them physically...but only when they're in her bubble.
Likes: Lingering company, meeting new people, using and playing with her bubbles, thick fog.
Dislikes: Nasty people, being alone for long periods of time, being pestered and chased by ghost hunters, her bubbles being popped by anyone other than herself.
Fears: She fears being alone forever. Loneliness has never stopped feeling crushing to her and being in that state for all of eternity...she shudders at the thought.
Weaknesses: She's completely incapable of any kind of physical contact beyond using the bubbles she can blow and manipulate and is vulnerable to anything designed to ward off ghosts...up to and including objects typically regarded as useless by less superstitious people.
Abilities: She can blow bubbles at will simply by blowing with her mouth, with size dependent on how hard she blows. The bubbles themselves always exude an aura of ghostly mist from its' surface and interior walls and always feel very slightly damp to touch, and they are her only means of achieving any kind of physical contact with the living world as her ghostly body passes through anything in said world with the exception of her bubbles and anything captured inside her bubbles. She also shares most abilities ghosts have, including proximity-based invisibility and flight.
Background: Mia Dukana was once an art student, preferring the coastlines around the seaside town of Drahmouth until the fateful day during which she sat on a smooth rock sketching the ships entering and leaving the docks and heard the sound of the cliff above her crashing down all around and on her, tragically ending her life right then and there...until she felt herself floating further up and up and spied her ruined body beneath the earthy rubble. She was dead...she couldn't accept that.
She kept trying and trying in increasing futility to return to the world of the living, but her body was gone, crushed beneath what was once a magnificent cliffside. She felt herself fill with despair at the sight of it all and it wasn't long before Mia became too riddled with anguish and drifted away, becoming lost in her own thoughts, soon losing sight of her coastal town entirely and ultimately losing her direction. She could no longer find her home or where her body had been buried. She feared she could no longer approach anybody she knew without scaring them away and her loneliness soon became overwhelming...until she spied bubbles. Drifting through the air with even less direction than the lost soul, she followed the source to a seagreen-haired girl around her age, blowing them for what felt like an eternity. She drew herself closer to the girl...and pulled away, regretting making the attempt to communicate with her until she heard the lady call out towards the spirit.
"A-Ah!! Oh, u-uh...hi?" Mia felt her entire being jump in fright at being recognised, and shifted herself to face the girl in a rush.
"Who...or what...are you?"
"I'm...uh, I-I..." Mia stammered, finding it difficult to keep her scattered thoughts straight and her composure steady.
"...nevermind, come here. I won't bite, I promise~." The girl reassured her, patting the dewey grass beside her with her free hand whilst holding an ancient-looking bubble wand in the other. Mia hesitated for a moment. Another human girl, welcoming a wandering spirit like her? It didn't quite sit right with the dearly departed, but she tried to relax herself and floated beside her. The girl refocused her attention on the bubble wand, the handle and hoop connected by a small glowing sapphire between the two, whilst Mia looked closely at the object. She rarely saw bubbles, much less ones being blown by what looked like such a fantastical and almost hypnotic implement, and felt herself blowing with her ethereal lips at the same time the girl did. It immediately snapped her out of any trauma Mia had suffered from witnessing her very own death when she felt and saw herself blowing bubbles out of her mouth without any special equipment, with size dependent on how hard she blew. The welcoming girl knowingly smiled and placed her hand on one of Mia's smaller bubbles, the two of them watching the hand stop its movement and indent the surface of it.
"Feeling better?" The girl asked Mia, gripping the bubble in her free hand and squishing it before setting it free into the sky.
"I...yeah, I think so...wait, how did you-?" Mia expressed her gratitude, but the girl held her free hand up in front of Mia's ghostly visage.
"I know a potential mage like me when I see one, don't you worry~." The girl clarified for her, lifting her hand away. "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't ask for your name! Who are you?"
"I'm Mia. Mia Dukana."
"Hehehe, cute name." The girl giggled, and turned to leave Mia to her own devices, skipping away with a peaceful hum...but not before turning back to face her one last time.
"Oh, I almost forgot!"
"Yeah?" Mia asked.
"Call me Seril."
