Correction by Nephtis

First of all Hello and Welcome to Improvement-Club! If you've just joined the group or are thinking about joining, you're in the right place!

General Etiquette Rules

:bulletgreen: Do not advertise on the front page. This includes group promotion as well as announcing commission status or contests. Also, don't beg/ask for points on our front page.
:bulletgreen: art solely created as advertisement for adopts or other art services won't be accepted ( It is allowed to submit an already finished and paid commissions though if the purpose is artistic improvement)
:bulletgreen: When you have a club-related question, please send a note to the group, not to the admins individually.
:bulletgreen: Do not ask why your image hasn't been corrected or how long it will take. We simply don't know, nor do we have any control over what people choose to correct. (And sometimes, pieces submitted after yours will be corrected before yours. It happens.)
:bulletgreen: Don't take it personally if you ask to be a group admin and are denied. You can still do corrections as a normal member - and should!
:bulletgreen: To any MEMBERS wanting to leave the group: please remove all your 'Correct Me' submissions. You can do this by going to the 'edit deviation' page for the submission.
:bulletgreen: To any CORRECTOR/ADMIN who is leaving dA or moving accounts: Please send us a note so we can remove the old/deactivated account from the group.

Submission Rules

If you submit a drawing you want to be corrected, submit it to one of the Correct-Me-Folders. Have a look at your deviation and make sure, it follows these rules:
:bulletgreen: Please add a short note about what exactly you want to have corrected in your deviation. Do this by writing this in your artist's comment/ the image description under the deviation:

-> to :@iconimprovement-club@:  (remove the 2nd @)
(or the group-icon :iconImprovement-Club@:(remove the 2nd @) )
Please give me critique for [thing you want to have critiqued].

For example you can write what you had most difficulties with, or what you like least on your drawing, so the correctors have some ideas how to be the most helpful in their feedback and redline. It also tells us that you are looking for feedback and have internationally submitted your art to us. (You'd be surprised how many folks submit art without realizing this is a redline and critique group!) Art that does not include the icon and comment above will not be accepted!
The Improvement-Club is here to give artists assistance in developing their craft. If you are looking for exposure for your art, there are tons of very good groups that are created specifically for that purpose. This group is not one of them.
:bulletgreen: If we send you a comment about your submission process we give you 3 days to react to it, by either changing your submission/the artists comment so it complies with the submission rules or by responding to our comment. If we don't hear from you in 3 days, the submission will be automatically declined.
:bulletgreen: The picture of your drawing should of good quality, meaning we should be able to figure out what we're correcting!
:bulletgreen: By submitting your art to the Correct-Me-Folders you are granting permission for any member of our group to overpaint, redline or redraw your artwork (they'll give credit of course, and you still own your artwork) and for it to be featured in our group.
:bulletgreen: You may NOT submit another artist's work to a Correct-Me folder. This also counts for copies (redrawing a picture), pictures that use bases, and collaborations.
:bulletgreen: Items that are older than a year are regularly removed form the Correct-Me folders. If your piece was removed, but you would still like a correction on it, feel free to resubmit.
:bulletgreen: We have a limit of 2 submissions per month to the Correct-Me-Folders for Members and 3 submissions per month for Correctors.

Correctors:

All members are welcome to do corrections, but we do have an Admin category called "Correctors". These rockstars go above and beyond the usual, and do about 3-4 corrections per month and often help out in the back room with admin duties. If you'd like to be a corrector, make sure you've submitted a few corrections to the group, and then send the group a note.

As a corrector...
:bulletgreen: You can choose any drawing from the Correct-Me-Folders to correct.
:bulletgreen: Don't forget to look in the back! Maybe an older piece will catch your eye.
:bulletgreen: Have a look at our Correction Guidelines
:bulletgreen: You can find your own way of offering redlines or feedback, or look at our Corrected-Drawings-Folders for inspiration
:bulletgreen: Remember to tell the original artist that you corrected their work!
:bulletgreen: Give the original artist credit in your artist's comment!
:bulletgreen: Please try to refrain from giving solely written critique. Improvement-Club is special because it visually shows people their mistakes.
:bulletgreen: Do not hesitate if you're worried your English is bad. Corrections should be visual anyway. The only thing you may need to write may be some notes to make your correction easier to understand for others.

Folders

Correct Me:
when you want to get some individual corrections. Other group members will visit the correct-us folders in the gallery  to find pieces they think they can offer useful feedback on in a visual form as a redline, redraw, or overpaint. Members can only submit two items per month:

Corrected:
When you have corrected a drawing from the Folder "Correct Me," it goes here. Submissions to these folders are UNLIMITED for both members and contributors.
:bulletgreen: Corrected Manga OR Cartoons
:bulletgreen: Corrected Animals
:bulletgreen: Corrected Realism
:bulletgreen: Corrected Other

Tutorials
This folder is for helpful tutorials. Tutorials give some art advice. Everyone loves Tutorials.

Before - After
This is the perfect place to show us how you've improved! When you've done a before-after-comparison, submit it here and have over 4,000 members see it.

Archive-Folder
Corrected Drawings will be moved from the "Correct Me"-Folder to the "Archive"-Folder by correctors and admin to keep our Correct Me as relevant and updated as possible. This way, drawings won't get corrected twice.

Featured-Folder
You can't submit drawings to this folder. This is where we sometimes put corrections and tutorials that we think are particularly helpful or pretty. :)

Photography, Photomanipulations, Literature, and other (non-drawing) art mediums...

We do not accept Photography, Videos, Animation, Literature and Photo-manipulations, etc. This group is dedicated exclusively to drawn and painted art. This was a difficult decision to make, and we had long discussions about this rule. Here are our reasons:
:bulletgreen: Our correctors are not photographers, and few are writers.
:bulletgreen: For Literature, it's often simpler to type a critique.
:bulletgreen: Photographs are difficult to correct. You can correct lighting and composition, for example, but those are difficult to show by redlining or redrawing.
:bulletgreen: Redlining and redrawing are our basic tools to critique.

If you have any questions not answered here, send us a note!
