Help to Fund Open Source Product Design!

Today I'm launching a Kickstarter project to fund the release of my three most popular jewelry designs as open source under a Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike license. If the project is successful, these designs will be purchasable at cost, with no markup through Shapeways, and will be available for download through my website to modify or use for other purposes!

If this experiment works I hope to continue open sourcing the rest of my designs as well. I believe that a business model such as this is potentially fairer to everyone involved. The artist is able to receive compensation for their time to keep a roof over their head, and anyone interested in the work gets unconstrained access to use the work for their own art, to share with friends,  and to get physical copies inexpensively.

If you like my work, please consider donating to this project. No amount is too small, and every bit helps. Keep in mind that all that would be required for this to succeed would be 150 people donating $10 each.
Even if you can't donate, please tell your friends and spread the word!

Thanks everyone! :)

I tried to use Kickstarter for LastWare's project, but they don't take PayPal and I don't have a credit card. I will spread the word, though. I like the way Shapeways and other companies are making rapid prototyping tech into computer aided art and craft services.

Bah, yeah I wish they used Paypal to take donations instead of Amazon's thing. It seems like that would generally work better.
Thanks for the support though, and I really appreciate the offer to spread the word about it :)
