And down the river's dim expanse
Like some bold seer in a trance,
Seeing all his own mischance
With glassy countenance
Did she look to Camelot.
And at the closing of the day
She loosed the chain, and down she lay;
The broad stream bore her far away,
The Lady of Shalott.

The Lady of Shalott by John William Waterhouse c 1888 | Digital master study by Isabella Morawetz

Photoshop CS6 + Wacom Intuos5

Time spent: approx. 20 hours

My absolute favourite painting of all time so I had to have a go. Many hours were put into this. My hand is dead, but I'm happy. Feedback is so appreciated!

(Pardon the double comment.) I also wondered if you've ever heard the song The Lady Of Shalott by Loreena McKennitt? It captures the mood of the poem perfectly and is definitely a favorite of mine!

This is one of my most favorite paintings as well! And you did it so much justice. Absolutely beautiful work. :rose: The depth you captured in the distance is wonderful, and I love her face especially.

My favourite artpiece, too. I've seen it in Tate Britain in London. I was so amazed... I bought an artprint of it in the Tate shop, now I am able to look every day on it and every day I find a little new chapter in it.
Thank you, this is amazing! I would like to push the favourite button two times :ö)

It's one of my favorite paintings, too. You did a very good job making it look like an oil painting. I love it! =)
