INANNA of SUMERIA

INANNA - Sumer Snake Goddess.

Snakes have been worshipped throughtout time, by many cultures, for many a particular reason to each of them.

Here, I have chosen from the Ancient Sumer beliefs...beliefs that are as ancient as they come!! ..yes, older than Egypt etc.

The Sumer Snake goddesses, or NIBADA, were the Scribes of the Sumerian heaven. Inanna (or Nina, her earlier name), had this connection...the Serpent, or Snake, was aide in the Universal Creation, the interpreter of dreams, and a prophetess. The snake is therefore associated with rebirth, creativity, sexuality, majik and prediction, alchemy, reproduction. She is infinity...the eternal 'shedding of the old, the transformation that comes of this, and the growth that follows'.

Snake 'medicine/power' is most potent. It is that of sexuality and creativity. It is the Kundalini...pure energy that provides the spark of life.
