Strip 540 (for those who missed it): Irwin Murphy “I.M.” Hip graduated St. Louis High on high honor roll, then spent a full seven years at the University of Minnesota–three of them at law school. Despite rumors, he never contracted Peter Graves Syndrome during his time at the U of M. He went on become a highly-respected lawyer, but with no fixed address. Mr. Julius Albany stayed in St. Louis, wishing good riddance to I.M. instead of continuing to make his life miserable wherever he went. They have reconciled several years later, with Albany admitting that I.M. was the best student the school has ever had. He now resides in a rest home, with I.M. coming in regularly to help in any way he can. Sophie Finn Xavier also spent a full seven years at the U of M, five of them in a relationship with I.M. They parted ways after I.M.’s graduation, however, with Sophie returning to her hometown–London–and becoming a successful lawyer in her own right. Myrtle Peterson never existed.
