my first xmas at ponyville

The art style of this image is very unique and clearly show a lot of time and effort being put into the piece, which is appreciated. The event being shown in the picture is relatively simple, two characters enjoying a firework display, but it's executed well and is a pleasure to look at.

The colours are handled brilliantly here, especially with regards to the lights being reflected on either side of them. The design of both characters are both consistent with what's seen in the show as well as staying true to the art style of the one who drew it, which is not always so easy to pull off.

The only thing I can find to criticise about the picture is the scale of the two characters. Spike just seems a little too small here, although I freely admit that's a nitpick compared to the other qualities of the picture.

If I said this was one of the best MLP pictures I've seen on this site, I'd be lying. But that's not to say the image is unworthy, not by a long shot. It's well-drawn, the emotions gained are simple bu effective and it's clear a great deal of dedication went into it's creation.

It's a fine piece that more that deserves a place among the other MLP pictures.
