A comic I am working on with Jeremy Whitley (The writer of Princeless) named Illegal has a Kickstarter that just went up. Please check it out and back it! Or spread the word! Anything--e-mails, tweets, reblogs--ANYTHING helps.

The link: www.kickstarter.com/projects/7…

The summary:

"Illegal" follows the story if Gianna Delrey, an undocumented immigrant living in the shadows of an enormous city. All citizens received a microchip that tracks their movements and stores the history of their lives. Anybody without a chip is an illegal. They can’t be tracked, but if they’re caught, they wind up in the deportation camps - where the wait to be deported has become so long that most people die just trying to survive.

I am opening up emergency commissions.

Prices can be found here: imaginetheending.tumblr.com/po…

So, a few days ago Michelle and I ate out with a couple of our friends at a food court in Midtown NYC. My sister took her computer with her since she needed to work on a commission for a company. She left her backpack at our table while she and I got up to go buy a coke. When we came back Michelle realized that her bag was missing, computer still inside.

After watching security footage, we found out that the bag was stolen by a very cocky thief who probably steals from that place all the time. He pretended to trip in front of my two other friends and even talked to them after he picked up the bag. The security camera got a good look at his face while he was stealing her property, too.

That said, the police didn’t seem to take it all that seriously even though Michelle’s computer cost over $1,000. She desperately needs her computer to do freelance work and can’t really survive without it. My friends and I decided to temporarily open up cheap commissions to help save up money for a new one.

The friends doing commissions are luccicute tazzes indifferentsocks fevertrick and a few others. Some of them don’t have their commission info up yet but will be up shortly.

If you would like to help and buy a commission please e-mail me at ImagineTheEnding @ gmail.com (without the space) or commission one of my friends. All the money will be used to help Michelle buy a new computer.

Thank you!

So a few years ago Michelle Nunnelly (my sister) and I taught some online courses that were pretty successful. We’ve been talking back and forth about starting them again for a while now, and finally decided to start them around mid April or May. Sign ups would start before that. I will most another post when that happens. In the mean time we’re going to be making an official website with information.

There will only be 20 slots open at a time, so if you’re interested sign up as soon as you can. Last time we had a pretty decent amount of students.

WHAT WILL I BE TEACHING?

There are going to be three courses available to take.

First course: Storytelling in comics. We will teach you how to create a character, design a character, put that character in a story, and draw that story as a comic book. I will also teach things like how to make business cards, how to sell at conventions, and any other secrets that we have in the comic business.

- Second course: How to Color Comics.

- First course: Inking comics (I’ll have to talk to Michelle).

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

Each LESSON (not course) will cost about $30-50. The reason why we’re charging this time is because we’re going to be using a lot of our time to critique homework, make videos, and answering questions/e-mails. As your teacher I am pretty much at your leisure for that week. Anything that you need help with, I will assist you with.

For example if you made a business card you can e-mail Michelle and I on how to make it better.

A lot of people want the lessons to be very very cheap (Like $5.00) or free. Understand that if we did that it would make the lessons nearly impossible to do. I’d be balancing you, work, VACANT, and other commissions.

OKAY SO I REGISTERED. NOW WHAT?

Each lesson will probably be one on one. You will schedule an hour or two appointment with Michelle and I. During that hour we will critique your homework and answer any questions you have through video stream (Livestream, probably). Along with homework, we will also be sending you video lessons about the assignment.

For example:

The assignment is to create a character. Michelle and I will provide a video with tips on how. Not only will we provide examples from our own work, but examples from media. Then, during your scheduled meeting, we will critique your character.

BUT I HAVE SCHOOL/WORK/LIFE…

If you have a busy schedule, that’s perfectly okay. That’s partly the reason why we allow you to book your appointment.

WHAT IF MY PARENTS HAVE QUESTIONS?

Michelle and I are going to be putting together an official website soon. If your parent is the one paying for this, they are more than welcome to e-mail Michelle and I.  Both of us have BFAs in cartooning and have experience with teaching.

IS THAT IT?

Yes! Now if anyone has any feedback or questions PLEASE COMMENT!!!!!

A few years ago I did internet classes to teach others how to draw comics. If I did one of those again would anyone be interested?

I have revamped the classes since I've last done them so they are a lot more polished. I have also added a lot of things that I didn't teach before like how to use color in comics, or how to design a character and have that character participate in a story. Also, I wanted to give tips on time management or how to portray yourself at things like cons.

If this sounds like something you'd like, please leave a comment!

I was going to wait until issue 6 was done and the graphic novel was out and printed to do this, but VACANT is going on a long hiatus. This time it won't just be for a month. It will be for 2-3 months.

Even though most of Issue 6 is already done, I am delaying the printing until November-December, which I now is a big jump from September, which is what I promised. The reason on why is that I had an exhausting summer and desperately need a break. Right now drawing VACANT is painful, and I don't want that. I'd rather everyone receive an inspired, good quality comic, then a stress, rushed one. So the delay will be worth it. Especially since Issue 6 is a very good issue with entertaining visuals. I'd hate to draw some of my favorite scenes tiredly.

Because of this there will probably be an additional prize for the Kickstarter backers. Even though all of my readers are extremely kind and supportive, I apologize. I understand that this sort of thing is frustrating.

I, of course, will still be posting art. Also, I am working on something else VACANT related which will be very exciting. I will talk about it later down the road when more of it is done. So stay tuned for guilty pleasure art.

To stay updated you can follow VACANT on:

So VACANT volume 1 is now available for preorder. Volume 1 will have Issues 1-6 plus bonus material such as guest art, comedy strips, a prologue, and a "How I did it" at the back of the book. The entire comic will be professionally printed in color, too.

It is on sale for a cheaper price from August to Setpember at $17. This is because SPX is in September and I want to promote the graphic novel during that.

Of course you do not get the same benefits as those who bought one through Kickstarter, but you can save yourself a copy from the first print run.

There's only one more week to pledge to VACANT's Kickstarter, so if you want to, please do so now. Remember there are some Kickstarter exclusive items like posters, one done by :iconmooncalfe:. Soon we will hit $3,000. If we do EVERYONE gets a free Edeon or The Eye ID card. If you get this card, it means you work for either one of the companies. Edeon is the elite army. The Eye is the police agency. This is of course a Kickstarter exclusive item. So, you can get the IDs any other way. In other words, you're special, but only if you're cool enough to pledge.

Hello all,

So I added a few rewards on Kickstarter. A couple are Kickstarter exclusive prints, one drawn by me, the other drawn by :iconmooncalfe:.

Unfortunately people are canceling their pledges (this always happens. This has nothing to deal with me), and so in order for the campaign not to go backwards please pledge if you were considering! Luckily enough people are supporting that it's still raising.

We made it guys! We reached our goal of 2,000 at VACANT's Kickstarter!!! HOOORRAAYY!

What does that mean? Should I still pledge. YES! 2,000 dollars is the minimum money I need to print the merchandise, ship everything, and print the graphic novel. Any extra money would be extremely helpful.

This year it's unlikely I will be able to make any conventions. This is because of my finical situation. The more extra money we raise the more likely I can actually make some of these con appearances. Most of them are in northern America, but if enough is raised I may be able to go to different parts of the country.
