Description

This is a new T-shirt design that I worked on a couple of days ago. I plan to upload this on my TeePublic page at some point this week.

In case any of y’all are wondering, I’m referencing a protest that happened on March 1988. It’s known as “Deaf President Now,” and it’s considered as the most important event in the history of deaf people and Gallaudet University.

My professor, who is deaf, introduced me to Deaf President Now when I started taking ASL classes. Because I learned so much from her, I felt like creating a deaf history-themed piece for two reasons. First, this is my way of thanking my professor for teaching me ASL. And second, I have noticed people wearing shirts that have a couple of well-known presidential election dates on them. Since Deaf President Now isn’t well-known to most people, I thought, “Why not create a design about the event?”

And there y’all have it!

I think that is both a kind and wonderful thing, even though I am not sure I can learn or remember all the hand signs/gestures, I only know one.

I had heard about a small device that can translate languages when a person speaks into it, perhaps one day they will make a similar device for those who want to understand what someone says in sign language.

it would help those who have family or friends or co-workers who are deaf, and if the person they are speaking/signing towards is unable to understand what they are being told and they are the type that want to help

but can't understand because of not being able to remember all the signs, it would help if they had a device that can scan what the other person is saying, and it can be translated to them so they can better help even though they aren't able to understand the sign language by the normal means.

it wouldn't necessary be "lazy", I just know that there is some people in this world that aren't able to learn or absorb the knowledge of knowing more than one or two languages.

that one device that I can't really remember the name of, it seems to be a great idea and might help a lot of people in case they need help when they travel.

I hope someday there will be such a device that can translate sign language, it can come in handy and be good for those that aren't able to get some words that their family or friends try to tell them.

I hope that my words aren't misinterpreting by anyone who might see this comment, because  I really do only know one sign and that is the words I love you, that is the only one I know.

and it be nice if I could learn more sign language, but I don't think I will be able to absorb all of it or remember it, that is one of the reasons that I hope one day there can be a device like that one translating device,

that can help with those who want to understand those who use sign language.

I think this reference drawing is great and you did a wonderful job on it.
