Creative Exercise: The Epigone

This is just a random drawing that I did in Fall 2016. I was waiting for my Creative Writing class to begin when I decided to draw. During that time, I wanted to draw something. The only problem was that I had no idea what to draw, due to Artist's Block.

I didn't let that stop me. Instead of putting my sketchbook away, I decided to create my own creative exercise. All that I had to do to make the exercise work was look at any vocabulary word that I'd come across and use the definition to try to create a story (I'm majoring in English at a college I'm going to and I love reading as much as I love drawing.).

The word that I found was "epigone". It's defined as "an inferior imitator, descendant, or follower of a great artist". The story? Well, I only developed a underdeveloped plot summary but not a completed story (That's because I got hungry sometime later and I had to stop. Then, I got distracted by my phone and completely forgot about the drawing.). Unfortunately, I don't remember much about the plot summary. Despite of that, I remember that it did have a light "mystery novel" atmosphere and having a doppelganger involved.

I'm not sure if I'm going to create a story out of the drawing. But if I consider that in the future, I might try it out.
