There once was an elephant who was so small
That the other elephants barely saw her at all!
Her name was Daisy, and she was sweet as could be,
But no other elephant was as tiny as she.
One day as Daisy sat curled up in a flower,
She noticed the sky got quite dark for the hour.
She looked up to see where the sunshine had gone,
And she glimpsed a gifaffe, with a neck extra long!
Daisy stared in great wonder and the giant giraffe,
But he did not look down with a smile or a laugh.
Tears streamed down his cheeks and his extra-long throat
And made a puddle so large, Daisy needed a boat!
"Excuse me, great giant," Daisy yelled very clear,
"Why are you crying?" but he seemed not to hear.
"I hate being small!" Daisy cried with great worry.
But she wouldn't give up in such a big hurry.
Daisy lifted her trunk, and as loud as could be,
She let out a proud elephant reveille!
She tooted and squealed and roared through her nose
But the sound barely reached the giant's great toes.
