About the drawing
Olivia Wilde aka the beautiful Thirteen of House M.D.
I haven't drawn a woman for a long, long time and as I find Olivia one of the most beautiful actresses, I decided to portray her. To make a drawing more interesting, I took a decision to change her hair for more dreamy and add a butterfly mask as I thought they can make her even more feminine.
You can find here a hidden meaning here: she's wearing a butterfly mask in colours of rainbow not without a reason. Rainbow stands for the set of colours of LGBT and Olivia played Remy Hadley who was a bisexual person. I'm heterosexual but this is my support for LGBT
Everyone is allowed to love, no matter if you fall in love with the person of the opposite or the same gender. Butterflies are symbols of mind, soul, love and liberty.
The shape of butterfly was loosely based on the random reference photo. I wanted to make my own butterfly. Last year I was to the exhibition of butterflies, moths and others insects and saw THOUSANDS of those flying fellas. I browsed my folder with the photos I've taken of them and studied all shapes and colours of wings. In the end, I decided to make my own shape and colouration. I'm aware that I used more colours than a rainbow has. A big mistake that has been made: when I started colouring, I forgot I wanted to do some reflections of light on the mask, that's why the purple strips don't have any
I wish that mask would be symmetrical D:Olivia has fair hair in the reference photo, but I think dark hair really suits her so I drew it that way and multiplied strands.
Funny thing is that it turned out totally different than I imagined when I was sketching
