I made this for all the people that keep asking me how I made my Botan wig. I hope it helps to answer some questions. If anything needs to be clarified, or you have a question about it feel free to PM me. But please read through this first, before asking.

Sorry I've been trying to answer this for the last 30min because my internet keeps acting up. To answer the question, yes the wefts will show through if you just pull the hair up like regular hair. However there are several solutions to this problem. One you can do this lovely criss cross style from godsavethequeenfashion. www.godsavethequeenfashions.co… Another is to sew wefts along the underside of the wig and pull up to cover spots where the wefts show through. You could even tease the hair a bit. It really just depends on how high you want the ponytail to be.

Ah okay, just curious because I have to make a Sailor Cosmos wig (similar to Sailor Moon only the odango's are heart shaped) and I bought a 51" long wig and sixteen 20" extensions and I keep looking at everything and asking myself "will this be enough"? And I can't find many online tutorials on Sailor Moon wigs (surprisingly) that talk about the wefts.

I have already consulted Kukki-san already lol! I asked her on how she did the heart-shaped odango's and what-not. I also am on a budged for my costumes, so I couldn't buy too much and I feel like I don't have enough lol. I'll probably have to take hair from the wig to use as wefts though. I can't afford for someone to style it for me either - I'd rather not do that.
