To be blunt, cecause I think the judges on DA have been awful at doing their job appropriately given the circumstances, I have judged the Onmyoji Fan Art Contest myself. Keep reading if you want to know more!
1) They could not have won 1st, 2nd, or 3rd of any past DA official contests. Semi-finalists are fine!
2) Style, genre, expressions, emotional impact, how unique it is, and color usage MATTER. If you have a blank face, I'm over it. It officially isn't worth it - emotion is everything. Blank faces are stupid, they leave you feeling empty, and the fact that DA chooses so many of that crap is unforgivable and stupid. DON'T. DO. I
Ey, wassup people.
I've totally neglected DA for quuuite some time, but the recent competitions brought me back and it's about time I post a bunch of my recent work :)
All the old stuff that I didn't delete 6 years ago shall remain, it's just to fun to go back to look at. I don't plan however on uploading everything I've made since then, only the stuff I include in my portfolio.
Hope y'all enjoy :D
I just saw your old works around 2015 and compare to your work in 2018. There are so much improving! May I ask you what're you doing or learning between that year of improvement? cause it's make me feel either stunning and amazing about you. (Forgive me about my English skill XD)
no worries! Obviously I've been making alooot of art, and for every piece I do I'm aiming to build on what I've created before, be it with a new skill, software or inspiration. I work as a concept artist so alot of the disciplines from there have bled into my illustration, good habits like thinking how you can justify every element of your artwork; if you're adding something you'd better have a good reason why (and because it looks great is often a valid reason). You can see alot more of the art I made during that period over here: www.artstation.com/tck but even those only go back about two years
