In our continuous effort to improve the deviantART experience, we're publishing weekly Site Updates to keep members informed and to gather feedback. Below is a list of recent changes to the site, bug fixes, and feedback that was brought up by members in the last Site Update.

What's New

The New Suggestions Forum

We started running a trial of a new Suggestions Forum in May, and after monitoring its usage and the benefits it provides, we have replaced the old Suggestions Forum with a new Suggestions Forum located in our Customer Service system, Zendesk. A link to the new Suggestions Forum can be easily reached from the Forums page.

This new Suggestions Forum allows for a great deal of flexibility in how we approach suggestions, including giving staff the ability to mark suggestions as complete, planned, or not planned. It also gives the community the ability to vote up suggestions they agree with. The more votes that a suggestion receives, the higher that suggestion will appear in the forum! Unlike our previous Suggestions Forum, threads don't expire, and when creating a new thread you'll be prompted with similar threads, to help reduce the amount of duplicate threads.

Your Feedback

Thanks for the feedback on last week's Site Update! Here's some of what you had to say.
  • Feedback regarding the changes to the new deviation page were positive.
  • Deviants were generally positive about the launch of Mentions to Beta Testers, though a few deviants mentioned not wanting to receive Mentions. These deviants were pleased when informed there is a way to turn Mentions on or off from the Settings page.
  • In response to the Discuss topic, several deviants mentioned that they find the Custom widget to be their most valuable widget. Some deviants also mentioned the deviantID widget, the Commissions widget, and the Poll widget.

Discuss!

Hi! I wonder if it would be possible for an admin to fave artworks submitted to his/her own group. At the moment I can fave anything in other groups, but not where I admin. Which is not very practical, especially if I want to prepare features.
Thank you!

Hi there! If this continues to happen to you, please file a bug report at the Help Desk. :)
Andorada's avatar
Oh, so this should not happen at all?
ikazon's avatar
Provided it's not your own deviation, you should be able to add it to your Favourites, regardless of what Groups it's submitted to. The only case where that wouldn't be an option is if a deviant has blocked you, otherwise, so I would consider that to be a bug, yes.

OK, thank you. :) I followed your advice and I have a ticket now. Meow :3  I wonder... How is the fastest way to collect artworks for a feature? I had to open every picture, take the thumbcode and put it in the journal, piece by piece. Or open the picture, fave it, and after add several at a time, through the faves seen from the writer. Now it should be possible to just fave them, and then add them through the writer(which is already awesome!). Is there a way to see the group's gallery directly from the writer?

I would like a screensaver/background changer for windows (I use vista), that scrolls through and displays a deviation folder created on the site. I could then place found deviations into that folder and get to see them continuously.   I would suggest the cost of using the deviations to be 1 token per month (possibly per deviation) payable to the deviation submitter.  I could, of course, simply download them locally and use my own screensaver/background changer, but believe this would be fairer to the deviation creators and puts dev'art.com in the business of selling tokens and mediating.  Thanks.

When posting a comment on a profile, or on a tread in the forum (yes, in this one too), as I click on the blank space to write, page JUMP at the top and I have to scroll down and search again for the blank space to write.
Pls fix the BUG.
Thank you.

I've been having an issue with Muro. Once i've saved my work, it changes the color of some of the things. It'd be great if that got fixed ASAP

Um, stash has been bugging and now I have duplicates of the same deviation I just submitted when I was editing some typos. I'd gladly show a screenshot if I could but I no longer have a PC and I'm temporarily confined to an IPAD. Will the bug pass overt time?

it will be better if the MURO had like somehow of Zoom in and Zoom out, it will also be great if dA.com had like some kind of Section to select the area u want to color or shade in, i find it stupid that we don't have the privileges of free drawing on a ART website. ~ thanks :rose:

"Favourite" button is way too small now. I have an account on dA not only to submit work, but also to fave other artist's works. I understand that "download" has to be bigger because it needs to have place for an info about size of a file, but it's really uncomfortable and doesn't look very good.

Looks like from that moment we can say bye to old deviation page :XD:
