Haaaa what a shaaaame ! I'm currently developping a really similar app T-T And then I discover that it already exists on DA... I'm really sad Waaaah!

So what the setup with property rights? If someone sells their work via madefire is it then exclusive to madefire? Or can you sell the same comics on other platforms as well? Might be a dealbreaker for some if your comic doesnt get noticed in madefire all your hard work is spent and you can't promote it for other platforms.

The creator retains ownership of all artwork submitted to DeviantArt, regardless of medium used to submit. :)
kvcnt's avatar
Does that mean that the "creator" of the work can publish it to other platforms/mediums even it it "competes" with itself?
ikazon's avatar
Yep. No matter what medium used to create, the creator retains all rights to the art they submit to DA, which is why people can cross-post the same work of art to DA, Tumblr, Instagram, etc. :)

Thats very cool and a great incentive for trying out madefire! Thanks for clearing that up :)

What are the ways to collect the potential earnings other than PayPal? I hope there is a Western Union in there. Are there ads in there?
ikazon's avatar
Hi there! PayPal and check are the only options we offer as far as withdrawing earnings as real currency is concerned, currently. :)

why would i use this over booksmart or bookwright? they allow me to sell on kindle and hardcovers as well as their site and i get 100% of the money

i think people are looking over the fact that this is just terrible. 60% goes to them wow ok if that much goes to them i wouldn't like to know what else goes to them. if you want motion books it'd probably be best to make a basic program yourself unless you want to sell books for $12 just to get $5

was going to use it for books but 60% is to much surprised people are even using it to be honest could do the same in flash probably just as well if not better
dark-huntress6891's avatar
The author receives 60%, not the company. "You can set your own price and receive 60% of every sale."
MissFelixia's avatar
oh well thats still 40% which is just as bad $10 to get $6

so if you used this you sell a book for $10 to get $6 or  booksmart and you can sell your book for $6 to get $6 :) considering the difficulty of publishing and everything the high takaway here is more likely to push new people away or make less sales for them ect ect
