One of the better photos of me from my trip to Japan that didn't also involve food.

Ha, maybe I ought to write some haiku about my trip. I didn't think about it at the time, but I think that's for the best, I was enjoying the adventures too much! It was a very, very lucky happenstance. I found a SUPER cheap flight to Osaka, and my friend let me stay in his apartment in Demachiyanagi, so it ended up being an affordable trip, where it would've been completely out of the question if I'd had to pay for a hotel.

There was so much good food. So, so much.

Okay okay rub all that good food in my face why doncha... no really, maybe some will fall in my mouth!

Ninja... slip away... with hot dog.And hey, you can still write haiku about your trip, you know what all you did.  Even if you do a renga or set of 'ku all about your different adventures with *yells* FOOD. *says calmly*  I'd love to see what you come up with.

There were definitely a lot of great food places to choose from, that's for sure. Food every 15 steps, it felt like.

That's a nice photo! Complete with blue sky. Kyoto looks huge!

Kyoto IS huge. There's a ton to see, both in and out of the city, and by train it's less than an hour away from Osaka, which has even more to see. It's a little intense, to be honest, but it was a ton of fun.

I can't quite wrap my head around so much spread. Paris is perhaps the hugest city I have ever been to (you can't see the ends from even the Tour Eiffel) but this looks like something else altogether.

Kyoto's actually smaller than Paris by a fair bit, haha. But I think the difference is that Kyoto is crammed top down with buildings of varying heights and the buildings are generally a lot closer together, so it looks larger simply because there's no room for light to get through.

Having said that, the metro area that Kyoto is a part of is larger than Paris, but there are a lot of mountains separating the individual cities in that metro area, so.
