For the gold ring i simply cut a circle of craft foam with a hole in the middle that's slightly smaller than the glass cabochon itself so that when my base fits through, it will form a bevelled shape below the gem (i hope that made sense!!!) i did that because i didn't want any seams on the rings themselves, if you need any more help i can try to take some photos for you

It's.... not that bad, but i will get slight leg cramps if i sit in that position for too long haha
