Shadows in the Clouds

The contrast, the colors, the sharpness of the light and the softness in the clouds against the darkness of the sky is truly wonderful!
Beneath all that the city, so distant and forgotten, gloomy beneath this beautiful fire in the sky. I'm normally not so drawn to works with so many warmer colors but this is an outstanding exception to that.
The technique is splendid, capturing the difficult enigma that is the sky and the clouds. The impact is equally as splendid, as you look through the formless layers of the clouds, you see the tiny buildings of civilization at the bottom, reaching up for the sky.
