Deafening Silence

The mage of the invading army demands silence...
...a deafening silence fills the air...
... and a hidden sound of footssteps are heard, impossibly faint footsteps,
as if from a stranger trying to melt into the rubble and dust of the crumbling harbour buildings...
... Someone who doesn't want to be heard..

I have been reading tons of fantasy books (well, don't I always?), the latest of my reading ventures being 'gardens of the moon' by fabulous Steven Erikson
- so no wonder my epic fantasy-filled mind wanders in that direction lately
