Twenty-Twenty One

And the Delta Variant 
Another entry for the #DAHorrorChallenge 

2021 (along with last year) has been a nightmare in itself. 
On one hand it's been fascinating that we're living a once in 100 year event and get to be a part of history, but on the other hand it's been horrific to live through. 
This was inspired (all though I feel like inspired is too positive of a word to use in this case) of the terrifying imagery that came out of India at the start of the year. It wasn't a pleasant way to see the start of the year. The mass pyres everywhere was heart breaking. 
I'm very fortunate that I live somewhere where this reality hasn't happened (yet). But it was without a doubt a nightmare to see turned into a reality for some none the less. I can't imagine how terrifying and distressing I could be to be in that situation. My condolences to those who lived this.

In the initial planning I was originally using blue but I thought it looked too peaceful in a way. So I tried again with green and I picked the colour pallet for various reasons. The main one being orange and green and white are the Indian flag colours. Also green came across more supernaturally and sickly, emphasaing that plague aspect. I also wanted to step out of my comfort zone and try new colours I don't normally work with. 
The photo itself I don't think does any justice, but I had to make do with my limitations. The piece is A3 size and too large to fit in my small scanner. I can't get it professionally photographed because of lockdown, distance and time. And my partner's professional DSL camera is not currenty working. So I had to make do as best I can with my crappy phone camera and my bad photography skills - it's really not my string suite.

Once businesses are opened and it's safer to travel I'll take this to get professionally photographed.
