Random CSS Question!

So, you know how when you have an outgoing link, it underlines it, and adds an arrow icon like this? www.twitter.com/

When writing CSS, is there any way to access and customize it the way I want it? Or at least make it so the link is bold, instead of underlined (I don't really care about the box and arrow being there).

I already tried doing

a {
color: #786412;
text-decoration: none !important;
}

And that took the underline away, but the link is still not bold. Replacing "none" with "strong" or "bold" does not do anything.:hmm:

Thanks!:dummy:

To make it normal:

font-weight: normal !important;

I think this will make it normal if you try to add bold though, so try:

font-weight: inherit !important;

Which will cause it to to take whatever "weight" the parent has, but it might make it take the original bold that dA has set. :P

To get rid of the outgoing arrow:

a:after {display: none !important;}

Awesome, thank you!:la: That helped a lot.:giggle:

I didn't want to completely take away the box and arrow form the skin, but I used that bracket to make it smaller and more subtle.:XD: Thank you!:la:

In =pjuk's Pure and White skin, I looked through the code and found this:
a:link {font-family: tahoma; font-size: 11px; color: #636363; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;}
Try using that font-weight thing?

And if you did want to remove the boxed arrow icon there's this: a.external:after{display: none!important;}

Sweet! Thank yo very much!:happybounce: `miontre pointed out that it would still work if you used a:after, it would still work.:nod:
I used that to just make the box smaller by using:

a:after {
font-size: 10px;
}

The style that did what I wanted was font-weight:.:nod:

As for the skin, you have to wait until first thing next year.:giggle:

When you make a CSS journal skin, you have brackets and styles. A bracket is like .gr-top {}, and a style is like font-weight: bold;. The brackets describe what you want to style, and you customize it by putting styles in the brackets.

Hmm you may be right.:hmm:

Though I was able to get rid of the underline, so there is some hope it can be bold.:giggle:

That works when someone adds those html tags in with the link when writing the journal, but I want to implement it in the CSS that way they do not have to.:giggle:
