Description
Wow, my very first Daily Deviation! This is an extreme honor. Thank you so much for the feature!!!!

Phew. This drawing was quite a daring move for me. First of all, it was my very first major pen/ink drawing ever. The only other pen stuff I've done is just minor sketches that I forgot about soon after I drew them. Not to mention the fact that the pen I used was intended for writing, not drawing. Second, this is also one of my first times working with surrealism. Again, drawing this was pretty daring on my part. But it was required, since it is a school project. My teacher was inspired by the incredible work of (Gabriel Moreno) and we were assigned to undulate a sense of flow-y movement using a picture of ourselves (yes, that is me, but my hair is spiky in real life) and something from nature to create a narrative. So, otters were what I came up with. Otters are known to be playful and curious, but typically I put on a gloomy expression, so I wanted to show that even though I look unemotional most of the time, I can be playful inside. I used a photo of me as a reference for my face, and I can't find the reference for the otters.....

Time: Many hours over the span of a few days
Tools: a bic ballpoint pen.... :/
Medium: ink
Techniques: Crosshatching, undulation

~~~~~
As with all of my drawings, please keep in mind that I'm only 15 before you look for perfection. I don't mind constructive criticism, but please don't go overboard. Thanks!!
