Repost from Tumblr.

For example, whenever I see one trying to say why their favourite character is awesome, they will always say that they are better than the other character.

They will not mention characters like Marceline (or LSP or Susan). They compete directly for "better character" (but really "best romantic interest for Finn").

This annoys me. Why does it always have to be about shipping?

**WARNING: Following content may upset some fans who can't take a direct approach or generalisation. It is simply my little analysis.**

The main culprits are certainly the Flame Princess fans, as the core Princess Bubblegum fans are mostly Bubbline shippers and don't care for the shipping competition (actually being on the Righteous Flame side in this case), however the Fubblegum fans are certainly major culprits also.

FP/Finname fans hate on PB rather than granting a convincing argument why their character is good. When questioned on why FP is such a "brilliant character" or "great girlfriend" they will more often refer to why PB is "bad", and will be stuck on real answers.
What are FP's character traits?:
>Innocent
>Naieve
>Emotional
>Passionate
>Angry
>Evil?
Think about these traits, FP fans. How do they work to make her a good character? Well, I think the biggest advantages to Righteous Flame are the closed age gap and the fact that FP is clearly in love with Finn. And if anyone can change FP, it's Finn. But what does FP bring to Finn? Think about THAT.
Well, as Finn's first real romance, we get to see new sides to his character that we haven't been able to explore with the Unrequited Fubblegum. FP is also pretty powerful but she's yet to use these powers for good reasons, so far destroying the Goblin Kingdom, and then nearly the world. She's extremely vulnerable, too.

I think that unfortunately the only thing FP has brought to the table which we'll ALL miss her for is Finn character development. Hopefully that will change.

Fubblegum fans don't properly work to justify PB's actions (which are easily justifiable) and instead hate back on the FP fans even more childishly. These will say "love is not bound by age" and a load of other bullshit which they think can change the real-life law. Fact of the matter is, if Fubblegum is illegal or socially unacceptable in real life it's not a good idea to promote it on the show.
(No, that's not an excuse to say "Oh, Bubbline isn't socially acceptable so it shouldn't be on the show" because Fubblegum is unacceptable for reasons.)

I've spoken before twice adventuretitan.tumblr.com/post… adventuretitan.tumblr.com/post… possible reasons for why Fubblegum could be good for both characters (in the future) and how Finn is emotionally good for PB rather than Finn just having what he wants and PB being shipped despite not requiting anything. I've yet to see said arguments in a Fubblegum side of a debate however. And I'm not even a Fubblegum shipper - I'm a Bubbline shipper (for at least as long as the ship is alive) who will accept ship Kid Finn x PB because it's… not right. The ages. Wait til Finn is an adult, people!

The core PB fans and Bubbline fans sometimes intervene logically, particularly if they are an older PB fan, but sometimes these commit little crimes too, occasionally dismissing FP altogether as a character to hate.

TheFinnceline fansare dying off, even more quickly than the Fubblegum fans because they had a headstart after "Go With Me".

And the Marceline fans are completely quiet on the comparison front.

Why aren't people comparing Flame Princess to Marceline? They're pretty damn similar.

Is it because she isn't "shipping competition"?

On the Adventure Time wikia I posted a blog with theories on what will happen in the episode Burning Low. Here it is: adventuretime.wikia.com/wiki/U….

I'm going to post a few extracts from this blog over here to see what you have to say about this.
Everything beyond this point is theories from myself.

a) Princess Bubblegum is concerned that Finn will stop being a hero for the Candy Kingdom because he's 'siding with the enemy' as such (we can pretty much guess that there has been past tension between the Candy and Flame kingdoms) and also because he's chasing after a girlfriend. PB says "I thought I would be ready for this" could mean that she thought that Finn wouldn't leave until another hero was ready to take his place or until the Candy Kingdom is developed enough to fend for itself against its enemies (such development being seen in "Princess Cookie"). Therefore, because this isn't the case and the Candy Kingdom (and PB) will be defenseless against threats. Finn might actually be trying to leave Ooo for some reason, he might want to become a flame person, we don't know the full story. So since PB reckons her kingdom is always top priority, she tries to reason with Finn, to break up his relationship with FP for the sake of Ooo and the Candy people.

Jake of course misinterprets it as jealousy and gives Finn this impression, Finn acts like Marceline did at the end of "Go With Me" but more horrified, something happens that makes FP go away and then we continue with our lives.

b) An interesting theory that LittleGhostPrankster (HMDcat on DA) shared with me. PB is maternally protective over Finn. This would not be out-of-character at all, unlike jealousy, because as we saw in "Mortal Folly" she does fret over Finn's safety, even over trivial things like warmth, so him dating an evil fire princess who can burn his face off by kissing him is not going to go down well in her books. Also, she might just be worried about the innocent boy growing up, because "I thought I would be ready for this" could fit with her thinking that she would be ready to see little Finn grow up but then panicking and being protective when he does.

Personally I reckon it would be incredibly wrong for an 18-year-old to be romantically jealous of a 14-year-old girl's attentions from a 14-year-old boy.

I just saw the last episode I hadn't seen which was Season 1's 'His Hero'.
About two months ago I watched the last episode of Teen titans I hadn't seen which was 'Lightspeed'.
A few days after that I downloaded and read all of the GO! comics and finished them, too.
Eventually I discovered 'Adventure Time' through one of RebelTaxi's reviews mentioning something controversial about it (and you know what that is, AT fans) although I'd already had a mild interest in the show because of Hynden Walch - who voices Starfire, my favourite Titan - being one of the recurring characters, Princess Bubblegum.
Soooo of course I started with 'What Was Missing', loved it, saw other episodes with Marceline in first due to the awesomeness of her character and loved them too, then saw 'Fionna and Cake' and wondered what all the fuss was about, then watched loads of episodes with PB in, then watched all the filler episodes and HERE I AM EXACTLY 3 WEEKS AFTER I FIRST DISCOVERED ADVENTURE TIME'S AWESOMENESS, SITTING IN A PIT OF DESPAIR BECAUSE I HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO WATCH!
But, of course, it's not as bad as it was with Teen Titans... because, then, the show wasn't airing new episodes every Monday. So there isn't a sense of desperate finality or death for this awesome series :D And Monday's episode looks like it will be fascinating! Guess I'll have to wait until Tuesday to watch it on Youtube though...
Dammit, I need to buy the DVD merhandise of all these shows...

Yesterday afternoon I had my last mathematics exam. And  have to say, it was BLOODY difficult. There were communication fails on the paper so it was hard to understand what exactly it wanted us to do, such as a stupid question asking 'What does angle AD make to the parallel?'
What the hell IS angle AD? I know what LINE AD is but what angle was it TALKING about? So I just figured out every angle on the question.
I will have some regrets when I open the final results and see them, as everyone does, but for now there is nothing I can do. Sooooo what do I do until September?
List of things to do:
Tidy bedroom
Watch Adventure Time  :D
Try to watch Young Justice
Watch Teen Titans, of course!
Play xbox :3
Create a Teen Titans comic with friend of unspecified length
Get good at playing acoustic guitar
Oh and of course:
Get a saturday job

screenrant.com/cartoon-network…

They are reviving Teen Titans! Finally! It's been 6 years of waiting for Cartoon Network and Warner Bros to notice us!
We all became super-excited when they started airing the DC Nation shorts a couple of months ago, despite the fact that these were only chibified gimmecky versions we stayed true to our creed! Not to mention, they had the original cast!
And the shorts haven't been bad at all. They've been a form of lighthearted entertainment in these bleaker days of bad cartoons and hard exams. Next week I finish my GCSE exams :D so I'll be able to focus on DA fanart and hopefully get some of my handdrawn sketches up here and ditch MS Paint. And WATCH CARTOONS GALORE! One of the things I intend to do is give Young Justice a try... teen titan stealing scumbag angsty ripoff... and see if it can sway my judgement on it.

Back to Teen Titans, they are fully reviving the series in the form of shorts... more shorts... and here we get onto the BAD news:

They are not giving us back our favourite Teen Titans show. They are giving us Teen Titans shorts in a more secure DC Nation timeslot, which means they will air more often. They are KEEPING the 'chibi' style... in fact they may be changing that slightly too, by the looks of the official picture. To make things worse - far, far worse - this was the official statement:

"Character-driven comedy is the order of the day as this new take on the super hero series focuses on the funny business that happens between saving the world and living together as teenagers without adult supervision. They may be super heroes who save the world every day … but somebody still has to do the laundry! With the ability to turn into any animal or detach their robotic limbs, teenage pranks reach a whole new level. And even super heroes have to take Driver's Ed. to get a license – especially after wrecking the Batmobile on an unauthorized joy ride to impress a girl!"

You read that right. This will not be Teen titans as we know it but just another lighthearted, childish cartoon in the midst of many. There will be no plot. There will be little action. There will be no underlaying, educational messages or dark undertones. There will simply be copy-paste scenarios that we see everywhere, awkward moments.
Something good about this is that the Teen Titans characters are each absolutely fantastic in the depths of their personalities, so we'll get some great comic relief. Except for Robin... but Robin really does shine the most in his darkest moments. He is a character full of determination and distrust. But that's the problem - he ONLY shines during DARK moments, and there will BE no dark moments so we are only ever going to see him as the boring, arrogant jerk seen in the latest short with his competitiveness! Robin is going down the drain because he's not lighthearted or funny at all! Heh, guess that clears the way for Young Justice's Nightwing...
And we are only ever going to see Raven being a bitch to Beast Boy without the battle with darkness or loss of control, or Cyborg being either girl-chasing  or videogaming without the depths added to him during the Brother Blood season about his suffering as someone who is half-robot and shunned and his angsty self-battles that make him a good character.
The characters who will suffer the least are, personally, my favourite characters - Starfire and Beast Boy. These radiate comic relief and innocence and are pretty much 'universal' characters. So these shorts will be fantastic for them two rather than the rest of the team, although Raven will be somewhat funny too with her sarcasm. Starfire and Beast Boy have the most kid-friendly personalities since they are like children themselves.
But... once again... we lose some sides to even their personalities. We won't see Starfire be an intelligent, badass princess, nor will we see Beast Boy's epic leadership skills he gained in season 5.

How can they change Teen titans into a kid-friendly typical crappy cartoon? I was afraid this might happen but persevered in the hope that they would create a serious sequel!
Still, this is MUCH better than nothing.
But it probably won't be my favourite current cartoon, despite the fact that I like only one other that's on right now.

Recently, if you haven't noticed, I've become a member of the Adventure Time fandom. I was attracted to the show at first through Youtube by positive feedback and a comical review, and also by the fact that I know Hynden Walch voices a recurring character. :D
And now, 11 days after watching my first Adventure Time episode, "What Was Missing", I've seen well over half of the episodes and I absolutely adore the cartoon. Despite being childish in appearence, it contains some amazing underlaying messages and undertones, and a rather dark subtext to it. This show is basically Fallout with magic added - it's post apocalyptic.
It contains characters that are absolutely stuffed with personality. I find it hard to say that there is a character I dislike. In fact the only one I can say that about is Ash the girlfriend abuser...
Many of it's characters have dark pasts, like the Ice King, who was a guy named Simon Petrekov who bought an architectural crown which drove him insane, made the love of his life run away, and protected him from the occurences of the nuclear war surrounding him. Simon begs forgiveness from anyone he harms once he becomes fully insane. He is a lost soul and after that episode we no longer saw him as villainous, rather, we felt sorry for him.
There is also a more mysterious, yet favourite, character - Marceline. In one episode we see her memories, and it appears that she was by herself and/or living on the streets during/after the 'Great Mushroom War' (nuclear apocalypse) as a child. Note that we know this was before she became a vampire, due to the lack of bite marks on her neck, yet she still has some elf-like features.
Later on, we see her in what may have been an abusive relationship with a wizard named Ash. By this point she has bite marks on her.
We see them break up, she says that he's 'ruined [her] life', and he sold her favourite thing in the world - a ragdoll named Hambo she'd kept as a child during her suffering from the Nuclear fallout.
He calls her names, he insults her, he expects her to work as his domestic slave. And for MARCELINE to call someone a 'Psycho Jerl' there MUST have been something going on behind the scenes.
Marceline is basically that character that everyone can relate to.
And we have the fantastic Princess Bubblegum, who is a badass scientist princess just like Walch's other character! There's a lot to like about Princess Bubblegum but that's irrelevent to what I'm talking about right now, which is the depth of the show.
The protagonist, Finn, has some darkness to his past too.
He is the only human on the Land of Ooo and quite possibly the only one alive.

So, Teen Titans GO!, here's your competition. I'll be hugely disappointed if it turns out Adventure time is darker than a DC show.
